Capitol Distributing is the largest convenience wholesale distributor in Idaho. Founded in 1983, Capitol delivers to retailers in Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Washington, California, and Arizona.
Capitol Distributing is seeking a talented Regional Sales Manager in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area to join our growing team. This position is responsible for overseeing distribution sales to various convenience stores and other businesses in the Pacific Northwest. The Regional Sales Manager will strategize company growth, build customer relationships, and lead our sales department in the Pacific Northwest. The ideal candidate is a dedicated individual with strong communication and leadership skills. This position reports directly to the Director of Sales.
This is a remote position but must reside in Portland, OR. metro market.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee the sales region of the Pacific Northwest (Washington & Oregon)
· Lead and manage a sales team of merchandisers and sales representatives.
· Responsible for not only maintaining current accounts but also adding new accounts within specified territories
· Set sales goals, evaluate performance, and adjust goals as needed.
· Assess team processes and procedures, identify opportunities to implement improvements.
· Develop individual quotas and assign territories to sales team members.
· Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasts.
· Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members.
· Develop and build strong relationships with customers and vendors.
· Respond to customer escalations and develop solutions with urgency.
· Work cross functionally across other departments (transportation, operations, IT, marketing, procurement, finance).
· Research and gain knowledge of industry standards and innovation.
· Provide other responsibilities as assigned by company leadership.
Qualifications:
· A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
· 5+ years of experience in sales.
· Distribution and/or Convenience store experience a plus.
· 2+ years of management experience.
· Must be in Portland, Oregon, or the surrounding metropolitan area.
· The ability to travel approx. 50% across the Western United States.
· Ability to work remotely from a home office.
· Strong oral and written communication skills.
· Proven ability to lead a team to meet performance quotas.
· Experience setting goals and sales KPI’s.
· A results-oriented mindset with strong analytical skills.
· Deep understanding of CRM systems and best practices.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
