Job Description
Job Overview:
  • Work with Distributors to develop their Route-to-Market capabilities to have a sustainable business model. Liaise with KDP Licensing to ensure that KDP Brand Transfers are supported with the appropriate Distributor infrastructure to include: Personnel, Fleet, Warehouse, IT, Cold Drink, and Production/Product Sourcing. (15% time allocation)
  • In conjunction with Consumer Marketing, develop retail presentations to secure additional space/equipment placements to support existing portfolio and new product innovation.
  • Effectively communicate with multiple parties (e.g. Distributors, Retailers, KDP functions, etc.) to maximize the execution of all promotions and programs. Provide the communication link with other KDP departments and functions in order to facilitate volume-building initiatives. Continuously improve Distributor participation in National & Regional Account activities. Ensure forecast accuracy in order to facilitate the efficient utilization of KDP assets in addition to ensuring our ability to better serve our customers
  • Develop merchandising standards by Distributor, by Market and assist Distributors with reset implementation.
  • Identify, develop and execute key business building opportunities around availability, distribution, promotion, display, merchandising, and pricing that will support volume and share growth for KDP, while balancing these elements in a manner that will ensure a sustainable, profitable business model is maintained for both KDP and our customers.
  • Manage and develop a team of Retail Account Specialists within the market to sell programming and execute in market.
  • Effectively utilize syndicated data, customer channel data, trade intelligence, and brand facts to support the Annual Business Plan.
  • Conduct trade surveys to assess execution, competitive activity and future opportunities with our retail account customers.
  • Develop Cold Drink initiatives with Distributors to drive single serve availability for KDP Brands.
  • Develop Annual Business Plans with KDP Independent Distributors. Present Quarterly Business Reviews to track progress against Annual Business Plan.
  • Develop, sell-in and execute Local Market Plans that support KDP National promotion extensions. Develop, sell-in and execute Local Market plans for KDP Brands that do not have KDP National support.
  • Develop and sell in CMA agreements across channels of trade.
  • Work with Distributors and KDP Media Department to purchase local media to drive volume building activities.
  • Forecast CSD and Premium Brand volume using SAP APO.
  • Communicate across KDP functions of Marketing, Finance, Licensing, National Accounts, Shared Business Services, Legal and Supply Chain to facilitate volume building opportunities across the Region.
  • Surface and drive to resolution with KDP Licensing any transshipping issues.
  • Work with Distributors to ensure that KDP Accounts Receivables are current.
  • Ensure that Distributors have signed up for all KDP National Account activities and CMA programs.
  • Develop and sell-in Annual Business Plans allocating 100% of the Trade spend against volume building activities. Plan will have Base / Flex criteria that are developed locally by Distributor and Regional Sales Manager.
  • Effectively utilize all associated budgets to fully leverage brand potential, maximizing freedom of choice for consumers through uncompromising retail execution. Maintain full control of indirect budgets within assigned guidelines of the department.
  • Develop continuous improvement of Product Quality through trade age management with frequent in-market visits with Distributor personnel, and with joint work sessions with field technical services.
  • Work with Distributors to ensure KDP Product Quality standards are achieved utilizing KDP Product Quality Scorecards
  • Assist KDP Distributor Operations, where appropriate, in the development and execution of Product Quality initiatives designed to close the competitive gap to Coke and Pepsi.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities as required by the position.
Requirements:
  • Self-directed, goal-oriented and flexible, enjoying working in a fast-paced and at times challenging environment
  • 5-7 years beverage or consumer products experience
  • 3 years sales management experience
  • A proven track record of performance meeting targets and objectives
  • Adaptable and quick to learn new processes and tools
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and with a wide range of employees with different skill sets.
