About us

For over 60 years Koppers Railroad Structures (KRS) has been building careers in the railroad industry. We are looking for a dynamic individual that is highly self-motivated to fill our Lead Recruiter position and help us continue to grow our business.

As a strong partner with the railroad industry, KRS has played an important role in restoring railroad bridges throughout North America through our highly skilled and mobile railroad bridge construction, repair, and inspection crews.

The Lead Recruiter position will handle full cycle recruiting, throughout the United States, for the company’s traveling construction work force and work closely with the KRS Management Team to develop and carry out recruiting strategies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Setup clinic appointments throughout the US, for pre-employment drug screen and physical exams
  • Prepare, deliver, and monitor offer letters
  • Monitor results of pre-placement testing
  • Assist with placement of job postings and advertisements using both external (print and online media, state/federal agencies, technical schools, career fairs etc.) and internal sources
  • Initiate contact with candidates to introduce job opportunities
  • Assist with maintaining information in applicant tracking system
  • Contact candidates, coordinate interview scheduling and create Outlook calendar invites as directed by Lead Recruiter or Hiring Manager
  • Assist with facilitating in-person orientation sessions (hotel accommodations, travel bookings, meeting room setup, Taxi/Lyft transport, meal/snack orders and supplies, etc.)
  • Conduct Phone Screen to ensure candidate meets basic requirements
  • Assist with facilitating in-person job fairs and interview sessions throughout the country and travel occasionally to support these efforts.
  • Initiate and monitor onboarding background checks (Erailsafe entries and employment verification) and Driver Qualification entries, including Motor Vehicle Reports.
  • Process new hire safety glasses, apparel, and boot orders

Qualifications

  • Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize related workflow
  • Proven ability to communicate with applicants, management, staff, and outside agencies confidently and effectively.
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid driver's license for occasional business errands and travel opportunities
  • Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Up to 15% travel
  • Minimum of 2 years administrative experience required, preferably supporting recruiting functions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
