Job Description
Welcome to Grayson College. Grayson College is in the heart of Grayson County and provides a vital link for higher education. GC offers small classes for personalized instruction, affordable tuition, caring, professional faculty, and the convenience of day, evening or online classes. The college serves approximately 5,000 students annually. Grayson’s reputation is highly respected by surrounding universities and industries as an excellent source of quality graduates who bring specialized, skilled and much-needed talents to the workplace.


Recruiter 2 Recruits students to attend Grayson College through a variety of marketing activities and events. The Recruiter II requires a high level of skill in motivating and influencing others to foster relationships with prospective students, high school counselors, principals, educators, and local businesses. The College Recruiter II routinely travels to college fairs, high schools, and community events to inform community members and prospective students about Grayson College. Recruiters share information about career pathways and majors as well as career outlook and wage data. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the Recruiter II to promote Grayson College and increase enrollment. College Recruiters are responsible for gathering student documents, providing outreach to prospective students, analyzing high school and college transcripts for college placement and transferability of coursework, and admitting students to the college. The Recruiter II is responsible for ensuring accuracy of student records and enters required information into the student information system and/or CRM to complete the admissions process. This position requires attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.


The salary range for this position is $16.69-$25.03/hour.


Benefits


  • Sick Leave Accrual- 2 weeks per year
  • 10% Maintains accurate records regarding recruitment activities and prospective student contacts.
  • 10% Evaluates student transcripts, transcribes transfer coursework, AP, Tech Prep, and test scores to the student transcript
  • Medical premiums covered by Grayson College for FT employee only
  • Personal Leave- 2 days for FT employees per year
  • 10% Assists students with pathway selection, advises students on required admissions documents, gathers and processes admissions documents.
  • 30% Serves students as a primary representative of Grayson College; shares information about the college and the enrollment process in person, by phone, or electronic messaging such as email or text.
  • Tuition-FT employees, their spouse & dependents are eligible for coverage of full Grayson College tuition amount.
  • 20% Develops and delivers presentations presenting career and pathway information to students.
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Short & Long-term disability insurances available
  • 5% Makes residency decisions based on student data and residency documents.
  • 10% Develops relationships with high school counselors, principals, educators, and local businesses to maintain ongoing connections and recruitment of students from a variety of sources.
  • Vacation Accrual- 2 weeks per year
  • Holidays- Labor Day, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Spring Break, Memorial Day, and Independence Day
  • 5% Performs other job duties as assigned.

  • Interpersonal Skills A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
  • Education (1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
  • Other Skills May require understanding or experience working with specific student populations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Relationship building and marketing skills. Provides a high level of service to the community.
  • Experience One to two years of similar or related experience.
  • Work Environment Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a typical office. Special events may require work outdoors or work at schools and community partner sites.
  • Physical Requirements Office work is typically sedentary. However, the job requires the ability to travel by car to recruiting events and activities. Setup of events and participation may require walking, standing, bending, and moderate lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds.
