Job Description

The Quality Manager, Domestic Facilities & Operations (Food) will be responsible for the oversight of the company International’s, quality program in owned and/or third-party food-grade facilities primarily in the United States and, as needed, in Canada. In collaboration with key stakeholders, the manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring quality programs via regular on-site and remote visits while leaning on technical expertise, internal collaboration and relationships with the facilities. The manager is a member of the Global Compliance leadership team, whose mission is to meet and exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements in all we do.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Lead new logistics quality evaluations and onboarding, including audits.
  • Lead the development, implementation and oversight of facility-level quality requirements in support of the Supply Chain team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Provide facility-level compliance support.
  • Ensure optimal storage of product within facilities to preserve quality.
  • Provide support for Quality Systems development and implementation.
  • Lead new supplier quality-specific evaluations and onboarding, including on-site audits.
  • Serve as the quality investigation lead for supplier and logistics-related case management.
  • Perform on-site compliance inspections and internal audits for in-use facilities.
  • Complete or arrange for product surveying/sampling as needed.
  • Oversee the product quality monitoring program in the facilities, including but not limited to acting as the liaison with Supply Chain and consultants for the development and execution of risk-based testing programs, and proposals for process improvements.
  • Oversee the company-wide change control framework (domestic quality portion) to evaluate and plan the introduction of new processes, facilities, products and related changes.
  • Serve as the training lead with the facilities and internal stakeholders on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety (FS), and Sanitary Transport (ST).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


  • Experience interfacing with customers.
  • Certified practitioner in a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFST) standard such as BRC or SQF.
  • 5+ years of quality management experience in food-grade storage/processing facilities.
  • Experience working cross-culturally with a global team.
  • Experience building and implementing projects/plans.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in microbiology, chemistry, food technology or related discipline.
  • Experience working with agri-food ingredients. Experience with organics is an asset.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GMPs. Certified in HACCP (Hazasrd Analysis & Critical Control Point), USDA or FDA preferred. Familiarity with relevant EU legislation.
  • Experience in multi-site leadership.
  • FDA food safety training and experience, including PCQI, FSMA, and FSVP.


REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION


  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% on average.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the business. Permanent work location is flexible.
