Duties:

The essential duties of the Quality Assurance/Document Control Specialist include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform maintenance to ensure the quality and functionality of lab equipment and reagents.
• Perform document control and distribution of controlled documents using Sorenson Forensics electronic database.
• Update and maintain company documents, policies, and necessary forms to ensure company documents remain accurate and current.
• Maintain company LIMS system to accurately complete various tasks regarding laboratory equipment.

Required Skills:

• Position requires excellent attention to detail, good communication skills, the ability to troubleshoot problems using technical and creative solutions, and adapt to change.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software products, with the ability to write effectively
• Minimum 2 years experience working in a Quality environment within an ISO accredited company.
• BS or Associates degree in Biologic Science with minimum 2 years experience working in a quality position within an accredited biotechnological company. Direct experience working with ISO 17025, ASCLD/LAB, AABB, NYSDOH or CAP based quality systems is preferred. Experience with Document Control methods and software is required.
• Excellent written and oral English language skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, standards, and procedures. Ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions. Must possess the ability to effectively manage multiple projects at the same time.
