In the role of a Quality Control Specialist II, you will support a manufacturing plant that produces Process chromatography resins, digital PCR reagents, and other specialized life science products. Your role requires you to prepare for and test incoming raw materials, in-process and finished products and review test results against standards and historical information to ensure required specifications are met. You will work individually on scheduled testing, or as part of the Quality Control (QC) team to ensure timely and accurate testing of various materials. You will support the team by troubleshooting issues, through individual projects and training of others, and by looking for ways to improve the processes within the lab. Schedule is day shift, M-F, typically 7-8am start or swing shift M-F, typically with 830-10am start time.
How You’ll Make An Impact:
- Work closely with internal QC team to complete required testing per schedule and communicate effectively with QC team members and with other departments.
- As part of the QC Team, perform inventory of testing materials and order as needed, maintain housekeeping and 5S standards.
- Work with other departments including Chemical Development, R&D, Production and Warehouse on daily work and special projects.
- Perform Routine Quality Control tests using a variety of instruments such as pH meters, conductivity meters, HPLC, NGC, spectrophotometer, Elzone, Horiba, auto-titrators, vacuum ovens, and centrifuges.
- Perform Routine Quality Control tests in accordance with site procedures using approved reagents and techniques. Maintain complete and accurate documentation upholding Good Documentation Practices. Record results manually and in the SAP system.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, and, if needed, use troubleshooting techniques to solve issues with equipment performance, testing protocols or samples.
- Compile data, analyze, compare, and summarize results. Utilize knowledge and experience to identify trends, performance issues or other concerns.
- Gain strong understanding of all Quality Control equipment and Site Product families via training, practice and experience running testing. Gain ability to train more junior team members on site QC procedures and work instructions and revise/update as needed.
What You Bring:
- Work Experience: 3-7 years in a general laboratory environment performing analyses in the areas of chemistry, biochemistry, or associated areas of life sciences.
- Ability to following detailed testing procedures, understanding of GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and experience working in an ISO controlled environment preferred.
- Good working knowledge of MSOffice applications and ERP systems with SAP preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work with others and communicate effectively and concisely verbally and in written form.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or equivalent in a life science or related field. Advanced degree highly desirable.
- Previous experience troubleshooting equipment and testing processes. Background in statistical analysis and process capabilities a plus.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $71,600 to $98,500 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
