Qhse Manager Jobs

Melt Group is looking for a QHSE Manager on behalf leading Italian multinational company for the construction of a new Cruise Terminal at the Port of Miami. Budget is approximately 400M USD. Long-term position.

Duties & Responsabilities:

• Monitor and ensure compliance with all quality, health & safety, and environmental legislations.
• Coordinate work by Elevation monitoring and Vibration monitoring companies.
• Responsible for overseeing the Project LEED Design, Construction and Commissioning effort.
• Implement and update ISO 9001, OSHAS 18001 systems.
• Review and approve invoices relating to the QHSE department and Security.
• Manage coordination with all Inspection agencies on Quality matter.
• Supervise actions relating to Document Control and follow up corrective action.
• Manage coordination with all construction audits that involves QHSE matters.
• Manage and delegate issues involving Client, Port Authorities, and Environmental agencies.
• Lead the QHSE department and inspire/motivate/supervise the team (6 staff).
• Handle client and Miami Port complaints/ issues related to QHSE.
• Plan, organize, direct, and control all activities related to the QHSE department, including meetings, training, and updating documents and records to all aspects of the project.
• Evaluate, analyze quality issues, and implement systems to identify, track, report and reduce or eliminate non-compliances.
• Recruiting, training, and supervising a team of QHSE professionals to carry out project tasks related to QHSE management.

Requirements:

• Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English and ideally also in Spanish.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineer or similar is highly preferable.
• Availability to work on the jobsite in Miami, full time Monday to Friday + Saturday morning when needed.
• 15+ years' experience working with general contractors in the civil construction industry, with at least 5 years in QHSE leadership roles in big projects.
• Professional knowledge of QHSE principles and techniques.
• Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite programs + Procore.
