About The Moore

The Moore is a landmark destination in the Miami Design District, comprised of a private members club, hotel and a collection of restaurants, retail, exhibition, event and office space. Housed in the District’s circa-1922 Moore building, the reimagined, nearly 90,000-square-foot space integrates two, four-story structures located at the intersection of NE 40th Street and NE 2nd Avenue, and includes Elastika, the site-specific commission created by the late artist and architect Zaha Hadid for the inaugural Design Miami/ exhibition in 2005.


The redevelopment of The Moore is led by boutique hospitality firm and operator, WoodHouse. Founded by entrepreneur Brady Wood, WoodHouse creates, owns and operates experiential concepts, ranging from private clubs, restaurants and hotels to live music and entertainment venues.

Position Overview

The Moore’s Restaurant General Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the overall success and exceptional quality of our public facing restaurant. This position involves overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, managing staff, maintaining high standards of service and food quality, and creating an outstanding dining experience for guests.


Position Responsibilities

Operational Management:

  • Manage inventory, supplies, and equipment to ensure efficient and effective restaurant functioning.
  • Ensure smooth service execution, maintaining high levels of service quality, and adhering to the restaurant's established standards.
  • Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain and enhance the quality, creativity, and presentation of dishes to meet Michelin star expectations.

Guest Experience:

  • Monitor and enhance the overall ambiance, cleanliness, and aesthetic appeal of the restaurant.
  • Uphold the restaurant's reputation for exceptional guest experiences, providing personalized and attentive service.
  • Address guest feedback and concerns promptly and professionally, striving to exceed expectations.

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, hire, and train a highly skilled and motivated staff, including servers, hosts, bartenders, and support personnel.
  • Set clear expectations for staff performance, provide ongoing training, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and professional development.

Financial Management:

  • Monitor and control costs, including labor, food, beverage, and operational expenses.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasting revenue and expenses, and making strategic decisions to optimize profitability.
  • Implement pricing strategies that reflect the restaurant's quality and Michelin star status.

Marketing and Promotion:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute marketing strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and all applicable laws.
  • Plan and oversee special events, promotions, and collaborations to attract and engage guests.
  • Maintain accurate records related to operations, finances, and employee matters.
  • Compliance and Regulations:

Vendor and Supplier Relations:

  • Negotiate favorable terms and pricing to support cost-efficiency.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely deliveries of high-quality ingredients, beverages, and supplies.


Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.
  • Excellent understanding of fine dining service standards, food and beverage trends, and culinary excellence.
  • Attention to detail, creativity, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Previous experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager in a Michelin-starred restaurant or high-end dining establishment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software and standard office applications.
  • Solid financial acumen and experience managing budgets and controlling costs.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage high-pressure situations gracefully.
