Job Description
Purchasing Manager

What will you be doing:
Reporting to the System Senior Director, Procure to Pay of Supply Chain will be responsible for leading the development, implementation and administration of a coordinated supply support system that operates efficiently and meets the clinical and financial needs of the client.
  • Identifies sourcing opportunities, service improvements and product standardization consistent with the goals of meeting the client’s expectations.
  • Manages and overseas Product recall program. Coordinates prompt and accurate replies
  • Oversees Procurement team of 15 including client Buyers, Purchasing Coordinators and eProcurement Analyst
  • Maintains open lines of communication with the client to ensure that materials meet the required standard.
  • Maintains and supports all automated systems for purchasing activities.
  • Serves on multiple committees including Value Analysis, Medical Device, Fall Team, Baby Friendly.
  • Develops and implements methods and systems for improving operational efficiencies for the Purchasing function, this will include the procurement of all materials equipment and services required by the Facility
  • Ensures Vendor performance and manages Vendor transactions relating to delivery, and service.
  • Provides leadership, to direct staff to develop their understanding of supply chain best practices to ensure operational and financial goals are met.
  • Determines and assists with budgetary needs for designated departments

Preferred Qualifications
Relevant Experience to include:
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, cost analysis, standard costing, statistical control and other principles of cost management and process improvement.
  • Technical skills that include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and current healthcare supply chain information systems.
  • Knowledge of healthcare supply chain management principals and concepts in the areas of procurement, receiving, distribution, replenishment and equipment management.
Education:
Masters degree

Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location.
