Job Description
Our client is looking for an eCommerce Buyer for their electronics and appliances online business.
Responsibilities:
Work internally and externally to drive strategies that increase sales and margin vs. LY and Plan.
Responsible for IMU (based off strategy) to achieve financial targets, including and management of margin mix (categories, key items, clearance).
Select and buy product; to develop and execute product, concepts, shows, brands, and ideas that achieve business goals (aligned to Buying KPIs).
Negotiation: Negotiate vendor terms, item costs, exclusivity, newness or exits to support the financial plans and strategy. Research and analyze market trends to source viable products.
Plan online merchandising assortment in alignment with brand strategy.
Analyze the effectiveness of programs and determine if action is required to improve upon program results.
Responsible for a key item strategy that drives revenues and maintains margins.
Troubleshooting vendor issues.
Facilitates Monthly/ Quarterly forecasting meetings to ensure vendor are getting the latest sales forecasts (6 months out) to base their inventory productions from.
Collaborates with planning team (forecasting) on consumer and promotional trends to support their forecasts on product demand.
Collaborates with Marketing team on product trends to support product categorization, layout, and sequencing. Includes selection of product and concepts to promote on homepage and email.
Shop and analyze the competition to understand trends, pricing opportunities, marketing concepts and customer opportunities.
Execute pricing and promotion in coordination with Flexshopper and vendor promotional calendars to avoid MAP violations.
Ensure IR or margin protection funding is being collected for every promotion that is run with our vendor partners.
Drive innovation.
Develop an entrepreneurial and creative approach to developing new, innovative ideas that will deliver results. Accelerate product discovery.
Lean into emerging categories and product adjacencies.
Prepare and participate in monthly internal strategy and promo planning sessions for senior leadership.
Develop talent, delegate effectively, celebrate diversity within the team and manage performance. Develop skills and knowledge needed for high performance guided by the learning plans.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
  • Excellent Collaborator, Planner and (written and verbal) Communicator who can keep multi-locational teams aligned with up-to-date forecasts and evolving Buying strategies.
  • Strong Analytical and Market Research Skills relating to your experience as a Buyer and/or Merchandiser
  • 5-8 years buying and/or merchandising experience.
  • Strong Leadership Skills as a Buyer.
  • Must have experience writing Standard Operating Procedures, in order to create, document and improve processes for the merchandising team.
  • Must be a self-starter who is extremely proactive and inquisitive and who can employ an entrepreneurial spirit in a dead-line driven startup company environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs; Excel and Outlook proficiency required.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Understand how to keep assortment pricing competitive on a daily basis vs. competition.
This is a 100% remote, full-time opportunity, travel is required to shows and is planned.
