Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Project Manager, A&D Operations located in New Brunswick, NJ, with considerations given to Tampa, FL and other J&J site locations in NY, NJ, and PA.

He/she will be responsible for managing aspects of complex Acquisition or Divestiture projects from transition planning to conclusion from a project management perspective. He/she will also engage with Team Leaders to accomplish project objectives through detailed planning, leveraging best practices, risk identification and mitigation, resource alignment, evaluation of priorities, precise communication and establishment of robust governance, progress reporting and escalation protocols. Additionally, he/she will need to be able to communicate effectively and deploy global methodology to support and monitor regional project teams and can successfully integrate a cross functional and diverse team. He/she will report to the Project Management Director, A&D Operations.


The Project Manager, A&D Operations will have the following responsibilities:


  • Consult and provide advice, facilitate discussion and resolves conflict; establish trust; build and use cross-functional relationships to accomplish work objectives.
  • Utilize project management skills to establish clarity in project roles, identify and manage resource requirements, define project deliverables, identify and mitigate risks, and measure outcomes
  • Collaborate, challenge and influence peers, subordinates and senior management.
  • Collaborate with Business leaders, business functions, and functional project managers to deliver program goals and value creation through effective project execution
  • Have matrix accountability for a project team; may have direct accountability for contract resources.
  • Be willing and able to work in New Brunswick, NJ or similar locations with approximately 10-20% travel required (domestic and global) depending on deal characteristics.


Additional Responsibilities


  • Analyze risks and future impact of decisions. Enable effective and timely decisions and takes independent action in pursuit of priorities.
  • Assist in developing functional plans, goals and objectives.
  • Understand and communicate within a project to facilitate effective execution.
  • Support various project status review and planning meetings.
  • Forge and maintain external networks to learn and inform improved practices.
  • Facilitate and troubleshoots problems associated with developing complex functional integration or separation plans; or fully integrated project plans.
  • Manage project governance processes supporting the Project Leadership. Understand how and when to make a choice; how and when to escalate issues to higher levels.
  • Drive key project delivery activities to ensure a timely and successful attainment of project objectives
  • Establishes and maintains liaison as required with Stakeholders, Business Partners, Steering Committees, Integration Teams, PMO and Functional COP’s.
  • Provide highly skilled technical and management advice and assistance to functional management and personnel.
  • Implement lessons learned for each project and incorporate into enterprise processes for future improvements.


The base pay range for this position is $97,000 - $166,750.


The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Job Qualifications


  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including solid presentation abilities.
  • Experience working in global acquisitions & divestitures (strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrate accountability for flawless project execution.
  • Ability to support development of business cases within a project in consultation with business partners.
  • Financial Management for project budget > $10MM (preferred).
  • Ability to lead, collaborate, challenge and influence peers, subordinates and senior management.
  • Ability to supervise and manage day-to-day activities of matrix project teams, third party partners and contact resources.
  • Agility to work with varying levels of complexity or ambiguity
  • Previous experiences within supply chain, HR, IT and Finance preferred
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of business experience in Project Management within complex or large-scale projects is required
  • Strategic thinker with an ability to dive into details.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Superior teamwork skills as well as demonstrated experience building collaboration are required.
  • 20% travel may be required depending on the deal needs (domestic or international travel)
  • Ability to facilitate discussion, progress effectively and manage audience as needed
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) or Prince2 certification is preferred.
  • Understanding of large IT systems and programs (preferred).
  • Experience managing cross functional teams (ex, 10-15 people) required
  • Experience planning and implementing change management for projects with global, multi-regional, cross company impact, or large scale user impact is preferred.
