Job Description
Job Duties/Scope Of Work JOB SUMMARY: This position develops, coordinates, and oversees the implementation of projects and major initiatives in or for the Safeguards and Security (SAS) group under the Hanford Mission Essential Services Contract (HMESC). Responsibilities typically include, but are not limited to:
  • Performs role of Buyer Technical Representative for assigned subcontracts and procurements.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project Management Institution's - Project Management Professional certification is desirable.
  • Ability to understand and solve complex problems. Desired Qualifications
  • Good working knowledge of Adobe and the Microsoft suit of tool sets (i.e., Projects, EXCEL, WORD, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the Hanford Site Information Management interfaces and Software creation and approval processes.
  • Current security clearance Compensation & Benefits
  • Manages assigned resources (internal and external to the organization) to accomplish objectives and ensure quality services and products are rendered.
  • Activity schedule development and work/task management of on-going program activities. Provide documentation for approval of Software through Cybersecurity/IM processes (SQA, PRRB, etc.)
  • Good working knowledge of PMP Project Management methodologies.
  • Broad knowledge of company's organizations, solid technical basics, and support group processes to ensure effective maintenance and utility support and communications as needed.
  • Budget development and cost management of projects, activities, and major initiatives.
  • Directly interfaces with SAS leadership team in strategic planning and vision exercises resulting in the development of initiatives to support the SAS program.
  • Develops Statements of Work for subcontracts, leads/participates in procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated good communication skills, understanding of stakeholder's involvement and effective team building involvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 8 years of experience - OR - an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical scope identification and management of cross-organizational activities/tasks, including performing the role of Sponsor/Owner/Customer for activities implemented through Projects, Central Engineering, Information Management, or other Hanford contractors to ensure implementation success.
  • Technical background of structures, infrastructure, power, and communication systems which support Emergency Service Department's systems.
  • Ability to manage diverse project scope, continually evaluate project status, effectively interact with diverse teams, resolve obstacles to ensure project success and communicate project issues to multiple audiences.
  • Ability to develop project schedules and budgets plus ability to develop and implement effective project recovery initiatives.
  • Identification of customer/user requirements to support activity/project scope development. These requirements are submitted to SAS leadership for consideration, discrete SAS planning and/or incorporation into the Reliability Project Investment Portfolio (RPIP).
  • Develops and manages the work scope definition, schedule, and budget baselines. Basic Qualifications
  • Ability to generate new ideas addressing issues common to standard approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate issues and ideas both verbally and written formats.
