Your Role
This role supports the Global Facilities team and aligns delivery of the strategy with critical business needs. This role manages facilities related capital construction and improvement projects including management of vendor partners, contract negotiation, creation and maintenance of individual budgets, permit oversight and all other planning required. The Facilities Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple aspects of the planning, design, engineering, FF&E, budget estimating & management, renovation, and installation processes and implementation for the assigned projects including integration of technology systems (IT, Audio Visual, Security and space use technology systems). This role partners with programs and operations to ensure facilities capital projects and renovations influences programmatic strategy through space considerations.
What You’ll Do
  • Create specific, measurable outcomes (metrics) as success indicators to track process
  • Identifying project requirements and deficiencies
  • Obtains necessary approvals for project approval, change orders, and invoices
  • Support communication plan as it pertains to project outcomes
  • Managing performance under contract
  • Oversees work of architects, engineers, contractors, and other external service providers:
  • Ensuring adherence to Foundation policies, procedures, safety guidelines, constructions safety procedures
  • Classifying and prioritizing major projects
  • Hold vendors accountable to contract deliverables
  • Serving as point of contact between Foundation, program/team representatives, operations partners (i.e., AV/IT/Security), and external consultants/contractors
  • Arranging expert consultation services required for projects, such as architects, engineers, contractors, surveyors, or designers
  • Create incentives to drive cost efficiencies
  • Facilitating project meetings with appropriate internal and external stakeholders
  • Support [capital] project proposals for Seattle Campus and all Regional Offices:
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key business partners vendor partners and Site Facilities Manager.
  • Participate and support leading cross-operational teams and offices across the foundation in discovery to determine how to connect space design to culture and behaviors and guide project scope of work
  • Collaborating with Purchasing Department on RFQ/P development and contractor selection when appropriate
  • Leading development of project scope, budget, timeline, and obtaining necessary approvals including regulatory and landlord approvals
  • Use data to perform financial due diligence
  • Estimating project costs and timelines
  • Reviewing service proposals contracts, and negotiating pricing
  • Manage partner and vendor relationships and provides leadership to those organizations
  • Manages facilities related construction and renovation projects from inception to occupancy, including:
  • Support change management as it pertains to changing workspace and work styles locally and geographically
  • Ensuring proper close-out of all projects, including final punch list and close-out documents
  • Enhance project management experience by continuous review and improvement of systems, processes, and procedures to drive efficiencies
  • Selecting appropriate consultation specific to the needs of the projects
  • Advocate for operational and budgetary efficiencies
  • Coordinates review and approvals of design documents and cost estimates, including having insight and experience involving design and construction
  • Keeping clients informed of project status, communicating any issues which impact project delivery
  • Review any new technology tools that come on the market to determine relevance or applicability to our business
Your Experience
  • Team management and team leader 
  • Strong contractual negotiation and vendor management skills 
  • Expert knowledge of project management planning process, principles, budget, schedule and risk management
  • Ability to read architectural and construction drawings
  • Expert knowledge of the construction and facilities industry
  • Strategic planning, resource allocation and coordination of people and resources on time-sensitive, fast-paced, and high volume of initiatives. 
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Advanced degree preferred in interior design, architecture or related field
The typical salary range for this role is $97,335 to $180,765 USD. The exact offer will be determined by a variety of factors such as the candidate’s individual skills, qualifications, and experience relative to the requirements of the role.
  • Ability to travel 20% of time to international regional offices at key project milestones
  • Must be able to legally work in the country where this position is located without visa sponsorship.
