The Operations and Events Manager (OEM) supports three Program Directors in the thematic areas of social equity, climate investing, and responsible investing. This role requires a dynamic individual with a keen intellect and strong project management skills, that enjoys and is motivated by the challenges of event and project production. This position offers a powerful opportunity to understand the impact investing industry, build contacts, and learn alongside top industry investing experts. Compensation
Confluence provides an attractive non-profit compensation package, including a competitive base salary as well as health / dental, 401(k), flex plan, and generous vacation benefits. The starting salary will range from $60,000 - $70,000, based on experience and references with the opportunity for salary promotion based upon revenue growth.
Location
Midtown Manhattan. The office hours are weekdays from 9:00am ET to 5:30pm ET, with longer hours in the months preceding the annual conferences (February & May) and shorter summer hours. Confluence is a hybrid work environment. This position is required to be in the office 3-4 days a week dependent on the season.
Responsibilities
The Operations and Events Manager reports to the Vice President of Programs and supports two Program Directors, with a 30% allocation to the social equity, climate investing, and responsible investing programs respectively. This hire also plays a critical role in helping to organize our two annual conferences: the landmark Confluence Practitioners Gathering and the Advisor Forum & Climate Summit.
· Event Management: Assist with program planning and execution of online and in-person educational events. Tasks include supporting the content creation process, including researching speakers, notetaking, and speaker relationships; hosting webinars; identifying event venues; creating event materials. This position is required to attend in-person events as the support team member, leading set up and event logistics, and coordinating with catering and AV (expect 1-2 domestic trips per year).
· Administrative Support: Support the Program Team in conference coordination for sessions and field trips of major convenings. Tasks include scheduling planning meetings, coordinating speakers, preparing materials, and assisting with pre-conference and day-of logistics.
· Content Generation: Compile news articles and draft regular news digests for distribution; conduct content research as requested by Program Directors.
· Special Projects: Follow trends and breakthroughs in the investment industry; and assist Program Team with thematic research, industry trends, and landscape assessments, as needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Must have previous experience in business, philanthropy, or project-based advocacy.
· 4-year college degree in a related field – Masters degree preferred
· Two or more years of experience in project management and/or operational support, preferably at a smaller organization.
· Conference support/management experience is highly prized.
· Competent in Excel, Wrike, and CMS and quick to learn business systems.

· Ability to perform under pressure, with patience and a sense of humor.
