Overview
The Program Coordinator, Safety and Wellness in Fire Rescue is responsible for professional and administrative work associated with planning, coordinating and managing various aspects of the program or division of a department.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Program Manager or other supervisory personnel. Work is reviewed for the achievement of desired results through conferences and reports.
Representative Duties
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Trains new employees to perform all duties in a consistent manner with adopted and/or established policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Prepares, reviews and approves purchasing documentation such as credit cards, delivery orders, receivers, and change orders.
- Maintains files and statistical reports pertaining to this program.
- Provides day-to-day supervision of employees and on-call professionals.
- Responsible for overseeing and coordinating division programs.
- Acts as a liaison with external agencies and organizations.
- Monitors vendor contracts and internal purchasing functions to ensure compliance with County regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Public Administration, Computer Science, or closely related field and two (2) years of experience in program management, investigative work, or in a field specified by the Department. An equivalent combination of education or experience may be substituted.
