The role


You’ll be responsible for presenting our SoFi Checking & Savings product in ways that will grow our member base, deepen engagement with existing members and strengthen our brand. For this role, you need to be both a creative and quantitative thinker.


This role is the glue that binds our banking product and go-to-market strategies to drive success by increasing awareness, driving consideration and building trust in our products and services to drive new member growth and product adoption.


You know our competitors in the banking sector like the back of your hand: what they do today and what they plan to do in the future. You also know our members better than they know themselves, including how they make their financial decisions. You are expected to back up strategic insights with market evidence and then use that knowledge to drive the development of positioning and messaging that resonates with our target audience and efficiently drives scale for the business.


You will develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand. Attention to detail and an eye for quality are critical to your success, along with an ability to develop our product’s value proposition in a way that resonates and clearly articulates how we solve our members’ problems. You are analytical and track performance to learn, iterate and improve.


In addition to the marketing team, you will regularly collaborate with product managers, business analysts, operations and finance partners requiring strong communication and collaboration skills.


What you’ll do:


  • Plan the launches of net-new products/features and releases of existing products/features, and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
  • Create compelling content and marketing collateral to increase awareness and adoption of our products and features.
  • Act as a primary thought leader for the products you support in order to drive the overall strategic positioning for SoFi Checking & Savings.
  • Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned.
  • Market intelligence—be the expert on our members, who they are, how they make financial decisions, and their critical barriers to switching bank accounts.
  • Develop a marketing plan for the products you support in conjunction with our marketing team, including key activities and budgets to support the acquisition of new members and the retention of existing members.
  • Understand and support our operations / call center functions. Partner with them on how to communicate our features and promotions that we offer for our members; develop internal tools and content in order to facilitate positive member interactions
  • Assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs that support your products on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes.
  • Support all aspects of marketing operations inclusive of spend reconciliation, reporting and ad hoc analysis of key marketing activities.
  • Collaborate with product management and marketing channel leads to develop product positioning, messaging and channel plans that resonate with our target audience personas.


What you’ll need:


  • Must be a strong communicator, comfortable in front of senior groups, and a solid presenter of key insights and strategies.
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties. Team player!
  • Comfortable using collaboration and content tools such as Slack, Asana, Lucidchart, Figma.
  • Comfortable with reporting tools and interfaces such as Tableau and Excel
  • 5+ years B2C marketing experience, ideally with at least 2 years financial technology product marketing experience.
  • Exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is—or isn’t—working.


Compensation And Benefits


The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
