U.S. Data Security (“USDS”) is a standalone department of TikTok in the U.S. This new security-first division was created to bring heightened focus and governance to our data protection policies and content assurance protocols to keep U.S. users safe. About the Team:
TikTok USDS Trust & Safety Product team's goal is to provide the best user experiences to safely create, consume, and enjoy content on TikTok. As a product manager for internal tools in TikTok's USDS Trust & Safety organization, you will be the linchpin that holds together the integrity of systems that rely on policy, moderation, product, and process. You will be building safety features or technical solutions to improve our capability to detect, triage and, if possible, prevent safety incidents from proliferating on our platform. You will be working with a variety of stakeholders across the globe, including Product, Product Policy, Engineering, Data Science, Operations, etc to create innovative solutions and comprehensive strategies to mitigate risks that come with new products of TikTok. You will develop streamlined and scalable processes to prevent abuse on a wide range of features while ensuring trust and protect TikTok brand reputation.
This will be a full-time position based in our Los Angeles or Mountain View, CA offices.
Responsibilities:

• Working with global teams across multiple regions and time zones.
• Work in tandem with our data science team to ensure that the metrics we track are actionable and lead to cogent and achievable strategy.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
• Work closely with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, scope, schedule and resourcing to drive successful outcome.
• Partner with Security, Compliance, Legal, Product Policy, Safety Operations and other internal teams to support, optimize and build roadmap for internal tools.
• Develop safety strategies and provide risk and compliance assessments.
• Initiate, coordinate and provide root cause and corrective action exercises.
• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or inconsistencies across the safety ecosystem and, in response, develop and test strategies and programs to support effective content moderation, ensure our tools, processes and workflows are optimized for efficiency.
• Manage relationship with key stakeholders, build consensus, drive issues to closure, help identify risks/mitigations and communicate project status.
• Support the development of an innovative culture focused on prevention and experimentation-- identify tool or process weaknesses, develop hypotheses to test, and use those results to inform best practices or solutions to help teams scale.

Qualifications
Minimum BA/BS degree

• Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, identify trade-offs, and make decisions with limited information in high-pressure situations.
• Experience managing the entire end-to-end product lifecycle -- transforming user/business requirements into a complete product solution.
• Proven ability to develop sound research methodologies and collect, synthesize, analyze, and interpret data.
• 3+ years work experience in program management, or product management role ideally in the Trust & Safety space.
• Attention to detail, highly self-driven and results-oriented.
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and develop empathy for users you build for.
• Strong written and oral communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience managing complex research projects from ideation to completion.
• Experience working with international partners in different time zones
• Experience in designing and delivering product solutions or processes changes based on analysis and experiments

Job Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $132696 - $288078 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
