Snap Lab is home to our hardware products with a world-class research & development team. We are focused on pushing the boundaries of what a camera can be, specifically overlaying computing on the real world. Next Generation Spectacles are our first pair of glasses that bring augmented reality to life.

We're looking for a Product Design Engineer to join the Snap Lab team!

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with industrial design and cross functional engineering teams as well as external vendors and partners
• Drive all phases of new product development from concept to mass production while leading and mentoring a team
• Develop and conduct technical experiments to select designs, materials, and technologies
• Design, prototype, analyze, and launch a variety of exciting new products
• Create detailed design models and documentation for production
• Investigate new materials, manufacturing technologies, and design methodologies

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Good communication skills—written, verbal, and presentations
• Wide knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing methods including prototyping, process development, and mass production
• Technical background in product design, architecture, tolerance analysis, structural analysis, and top-down CAD design
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D documentation (NX experience preferred)

Minimum Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
• BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading and mentoring teams
• Experience with overseas manufacturing
• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
• Experience with consumer electronics

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

• Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary range for this position is $205,000 - 295,000 annually
• Zone B: The base salary range for this position is $195,000 - 280,000 annually
• Zone C: The base salary range for this position is $174,000 - 251,000 annually

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
