Summary
The Product Manager is accountable for the creation and implementation of the strategic plan for products that support ‘Tailored Shareholder Reports’ or TSRs.
What is a TSR? Beginning in July 2024, mutual fund and ETF shareholders will begin receiving “Tailored Shareholder Reports.” These will be shorter, with a “visually engaging” format, and a stricter focus on the information that would be most relevant and of interest to the average shareholder .
The position is a key connection to client requirements, external markets and the competitive landscape as well as the focal point for internal expectations. Of significant importance to the organization is the ability to identify market trends, client requirements, product issues, desired and required enhancements, as well as innovative solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Product Strategy and Planning
  • Product Roadmap Planning – Establishes and maintains a robust product roadmap that is aligned with the overall business strategy and includes all integral elements, including product conception, testing, building, delivery, adoption and assessment.
  • Product Expansion and Development - Determines build, buy or partner strategies for the most effective and efficient product service and delivery.
  • Coordinates with stakeholders (marketing, product management, sales, operations, leadership, etc) - Understands and helps to articulate the sales process, including pre- and post sales client engagements.
  • Requirement writing – deep experience as a ‘working Product Manager’ including requirement writing, refinement and scrum management.
  • Business Case Development – Create and evolve the business case and product P&L – including future investments and support required.
  • Manage and Oversee Resources – Manage both direct and indirect resources (primarily BA resources) that may report on a fulltime and/or temporary basis to complete product deliverables.
  • Monitors - The implementation of product projects against timelines.
  • Quantitative Analysis
  • Operational Metrics – Identify and establish product profitability and operational metrics including customer retention metrics.
  • Product Performance – Analyzes product performance, including P&L and sales success. Takes actions to address performance issues and opportunities.
  • Market Perspective
  • Competitive Analysis – understands the competitive position of the product; Monitors industry innovations and competitive landscape and build findings into product roadmap and product positioning as needed
  • Understanding of content management concepts, XML and data management/ETL
  • Market Research – Participates in market research and market sizing for current products or potential product extensions.
  • Marketing Knowledge – Coordinates with marketing on go-to-market plans including key market message and determining launch of products/features in the market.
  • Solution Expert - Serves as the solution expert for their assigned product when dealing with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Technology Assessments – Assists in the technology assessment of existing and future products to client requirements and competitive landscape
Experience with modern Product Management tools (such as Jira/Confluence, Figma, Miro, and Pendo) is required .

Minimum Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related business field based on product requirements (e.g. Technology, Marketing)
Minimum Experience
7+ year’s product development and management experience, preferably within assigned industry knowledge. Specific Business Services experience is preferred.
