Position Overview
The Coca-Cola’s NAOU Global Development & Innovation Team is actively recruiting for a Lab Technician position. The chosen candidate will support the end-to-end innovation process and multiple beverage categories. This candidate will provide a support role to the Product Development community.
Function Specific Activities
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation i.e. brix, acid, total solids and density (e.g., troubleshooting, conducting preventative maintenance, calibrating and repairing).
- Record data from analyses or experiments in a computer, logbook or laboratory notebook.
- Process Optimization: Develop or validate laboratory test methods or equipment (sampling, monitoring, analytical procedures) in order to ensure reliability and accuracy of analytical results. This may include performing capability studies.
- Laboratory Safety and Environmental Protection: The ability and willingness to apply HAZMAT policies, HAZWOPER policies, environmental policies, OSHA policies and the chemical hygiene plan. This includes the safe handling of chemicals and glassware, the use of personal protective equipment and Company safety rules.
- Identify, classify, maintain, and protect files, documentation and sensitive information consistent with record handling and retention requirements.
- Instrumental Analysis: Ability to analyze ingredients, syrups, beverages, concentrates or other substances using laboratory instruments. This includes preparation of analytical standards and standard curves.
- Laboratory Practices: Knowledge and application of Good Laboratory Practices (e.g., handling of chemicals and glassware, preparation of standards and reagents, proper measuring techniques, data management, housekeeping).
- Manage the lab supplies and ingredient order process end-to-end for the team.
- Assist with Pilot Plant production, schedule and maintain process lab equipment in collaboration with the broader pilot plant team.
Language Requirements
- English language skills required
Education:
- Food science or closely related field preferred
- Graduated from, a Bachelor’s or MS program
