Semen Sexing Lab Technician

Position Purpose: Works with team member engaged in sorting semen by performing the following duties:

Key Responsibilities:

• Operates semen sexing machines, including daily set-up and calibration.
• Assists with semen inventory control.
• Performs and coordinates lab, semen collection and reverse sorting schedules.
• Maintains a professional image reflective of Trans Ova’s industry position.
• Assists with maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Follows Trans Ova’s policies and procedures.
• Maintains cleanliness and disinfection of all lab areas.
• Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as determined by Trans Ova Genetics.
• Continually seeks to improve overall lab efficiency and personal performance.
• Assists with media preparation and material sterilization.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Keeps records and compiles reports.
• Communicates openly and honestly with fellow team members and supervisor.

Education Requirements:

4 year Animal Science or Biology degree preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Indoor lab environment.

Other skills/experience:

Good communication skills.

Attention to detail.
