Product Development Coordinator, Footwear

Summary: The role of Footwear Product Development coordinator will assist and support the activities involved in the development of seasonal footwear collections, from the launch of prototype tech packs all the way through sales sampling in accordance with development milestone calendar. Reporting to the Product Development Manager.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Attend prototype, BOM, fitting meetings and assist in the execution of decisions from the meetings.
• Track all prototype and sales samples and ensure all required references are received and reviewed in a timely manner.
• Send out proto/SMS/bulk material orders and color/quality standards.
• Create and maintain proto/SMS/materials WIP charts and orders.
• Adhere to the product development/manufacturing calendar and processes, with the goal of improving product accuracy at market and reduce commercialization lead time.
• Manage communication flow between internal partners (design, development, merchandising teams) as well as external partners (manufacturers, raw material/trim suppliers) to track sample and raw material status.
• Daily maintenance of WIP charts with all updates for prototype and material developments.
• Assist product development and design teams to create seasonal collections and achieve design aesthetics, cost, fit/functionality and delivery requirements.

­ Position Requirements:

• BA/BS degree, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Strong cross functional partnering, problem solving, analytical, and multi-tasking skills
• Self-starter who is passionate about product and can balance autonomy and collaboration
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience in RLM is preferred.
• Experience working with overseas factories and raw material suppliers in Asia and Europe.
• Basic footwear/accessories development knowledge to assist development and design teams in achieving seasonal business objectives.
• Outstanding follow-through skills and attention to detail.
• Strong sense of teamwork and ability to multitask.
• At least 1 year of experience in footwear or accessories product operations (internship experience included)
• Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Energetic and adaptable, able to perform efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.

In compliance with the New York City salary transparency requirements, the potential salary for this position is from $60,000 to $65,000 which represents a range commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills required.
