PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE | DKNY SPORT

Reporting to: Product Development Manager

Brand/Product Focus: DKNY Sport

Location (On-Site): New York City, Midtown Manhattan – Fashion District

Key Accountabilities:

• Logistics and Organization: Coordinate package deliveries and organize samples promptly.
• Materials and Trims: Ownership of material library. Maintains seasonal material development binders and master swatch binders. Communicates with material suppliers and vendors regarding sample materials. Partners with mills. Responsible for sourcing and maintaining season material, trim and color libraries.
• Sample Tracking: Creates and manages WIP report for development tracking
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with vendors and suppliers regarding all aspects of sample development. Communicate with vendors to ensure new developments are shared with design and tracking all new trim development
• Costing: Organize cost information from vendors for all new fabric, trim, and graphic development. Create and maintain costing documents through sample stages and into market.
• Color: responsible for requesting all labdips seasonally and tracking submits and creating color cards

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of Two (2) years of product development professional work
• College degree, or equivalent professional work experience, required
• General understanding of apparel styles, components and construction
• Experience with apparel timelines, calendars, and development process
• Experience in a high SKU count environment, required

Skills and Behaviors:

• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Working knowledge of PLM, Illustrator, Photoshop, preferred
• Fabric Sourcing experience, preferred
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with other departments as well as vendors and other overseas offices
• Confident, engaging verbal and written communication skills
• Motivated to work in a high energy environment at the speed of fashion with ever-changing priorities
• Ability to work independently and work to meet multiple deadlines
• Strong project management and multi-tasking skills with critical attention to detail

The pay range for this position is: $28.85 per hour/$60k per year (Annualized salary is based on a 40 hour work week)- $33.65 per hour/$70k per year (Annualized salary is based on a 40 hour work week).
