Job Description
The Procurement Manager is a vital member of the Bob’s Indirect Procurement organization, and is responsible for driving results and value to Bob’s through both strategic and tactical procurement activities. This role shall serve as a strategic contributor to the overall mission of the Procurement team. The Procurement Manager will work closely alongside the Director of Procurement to develop category strategies, execute the strategic sourcing process and support certain purchasing activities across the company’s indirect spend.
This role will be instrumental in aiding the company by capturing and tracking savings within some of Bob’s largest spend areas. The responsibilities largely include executing and monitoring the strategic aspects of executing sourcing events, developing negotiation strategies, identifying additional opportunities and managing orders for new store openings. The Procurement Manager will play a vital role in supporting the Director of Procurement in the organization’s initiatives.
This position will work cross-functionally with other individuals across Bob’s to drive close collaboration, serve as a point of contact between the vendors and the business units during the competitive sourcing events, and pursue value-creation opportunities. In executing these responsibilities, the Indirect Procurement Manager will help Bob’s develop and meet strategic goals related to growth, cost savings, quality of service and risk management.
The Procurement Manager must have buying, strategic procurement and sourcing expertise, as well as a strong understanding of both Bob’s industry and the supply markets within which they operate.

Responsibilities
  • Support Store Ops with purchasing of certain ad hoc items not available through existing catalogs
  • Develop advanced category strategies in conjunction with the Director of Indirect Sourcing and business unit stakeholders
  • Access market intelligence to enable fact-based prioritization of savings opportunities with business unit stakeholders
  • Execute complex sourcing efforts, supplier negotiations, and demand management activities
  • Conduct advanced total cost modeling and scenario analysis
  • Develop and maintain category expertise across indirect spend categories and maintain a “pulse” on indirect supply markets
  • Develop and manage strong relationships with business unit stakeholders
  • Manage the sourcing process for indirect spend categories across Bob’s
  • Execute and track new store supplies purchasing
  • Address any escalated questions or concerns related to procurement policies, processes and decisions
  • Develop and execute contract negotiation strategies
Required Qualifications
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel & PowerPoint Skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field
  • Data Collection & Analytical Skills: The ability to collect, manipulate, and analyze data. This includes the ability to develop an effective approach to collecting accurate data in a timely manner and the ability to build complex and logical analyses. Must have a strong attention to detail.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Deep subject matter expertise in the area of procurement, including in-depth knowledge of industry structure, economic drivers, supplier solvency and competitive situations. Specific expertise in designated indirect spend categories, as applicable.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in procurement or another relevant field (e.g. consulting, operations, supply chain, or finance)
  • Procurement Expertise: The ability to quickly learn and embrace new methodologies and processes.
  • Creativity: The ability to approach problems with curiosity and open-mindedness. This includes developing personal creativity, approaching the problem differently, and asking for others' opinions. This also includes exposing one's self to new ideas, trends, and environments.
  • Experience in and/or exposure to Finance and Accounting
  • Problem Solving Skills: The ability to solve nebulous problems. This includes synthesizing (not just summarizing) information, resolving many complex issues independently, proposing next steps for resolution, and surfacing opportunities for solution expansion.
