Civil Engineering Transportation Project Manager

At CESO, it is the role of a Civil Engineering Project Manager to plan, execute, and deliver projects in accordance with client expectations. This includes but is not limited to managing the efforts of internal team members as well as third party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. Additionally, the Civil Engineering Project Manager will define a project’s objectives, oversee quality control, and maintain responsibility for timelines and budgets. You will have primary responsibilities that include:
As a Project Manager, your responsibilities include:
- Manage a staff of engineers and technicians and assign workloads
- Elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other internal departments
- Oversee coordination with clients as well as outside agencies and consultants for procurement of sub-consultant needs and jurisdictional reviews
- Provide resolution to client and project issues
- Lead the preparation of civil engineering project proposals
- Assure project documentation and reporting are accurately maintained
- Other project and supervisory duties as assigned
- Develop and grow business relationships with existing client contacts
- Monitor project progress to ensure adherence with contractual agreements
- Act as a team resource on complex engineering issues
- Responsible for invoicing of clients and tracking accounts receivable on a monthly basis
- Communicate project status and performance to executive leadership
- Motivate team members through the creation of a positive work environment by providing mentoring, coaching, and training to assist in professional development
- Outline project objectives and timelines for completion and effectively communicate them to involved parties throughout project
- Serve as a primary point of contact with assigned clients through frequent communication methods and lead client meetings
- Define and establish project scope for public infrastructure projects including roadway, traffic, shared-use paths, storm water, and utility layouts using Civil 3D and/or MicroStation, schedule and budget for projects as well as maintain quality control over a project’s lifecycle
Position requirements include:
- Ability to manage and mentor a team
- Excellent communication and delegation skills
- Professional Engineer Licensure (PE) is preferred
- 5+ years of experience professional experience leading the management of projects
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in the use e of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTurn, HydroCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Deltek
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
