As a Patient Access Representative, you are the face of Cedars Sinai and can make a difference for our patients. What will you be doing in this role:
The Patient Access Rep II performs all admissions activities for pre-admit and face-to-face registration of patients presenting to Admissions and/or outpatient areas for treatment. Facilitates patient access to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and secures all demographic and financial patient registration information. This will include the following: Registration, Pre-Registration, government and non-government insurance verification, eligibility verification, Workers Compensation eligibility, and securing cash deposits (co-pays, deductibles, cash packages). Able to explain benefit information and answer questions regarding registration consent forms. Demonstrates the ability to perform job duties and interact with customers with sensitivity and attention to the patient population(s) served. Provides superior customer service through all personal and professional interactions with all customers within the Cedars-Sinai Health System.
- Schedules patient appointments by utilizing scheduling system/application.
- Directs, routes, and refers patients to appropriate multi-specialty areas with minimal disturbance to the patient.
- Addresses and resolves a minimum of 45-calls per day and functions as the primary patient contact for their assigned specialties within the Health System with minimal supervision.
- Provides outstanding service based on an effective intake, diligence, and expertise with every call.
- Escalates patient calls when appropriate according to applicable guidelines.
- Determines effective resolutions to complaints/disputes and handles all concerns with etiquette and professionalism.
Experience Requirements:
- Able to communicate financial and privileging issues with physicians.
- Two (2)+ years of Patient Service Representative work experience or related experience.
- Answering multi-line and high-volume telephone calls in a healthcare setting or related field.
- Medical/Healthcare call center experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and online reporting); email browsers, insurance verification tools. Proficiency in admissions computer applications and associated software.
Educational/Certification Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED required.
Bachelor’s degree in Hospital Administration or related field. (preferred)
