Who we are
The Department of Educational Psychology (EPSY) in the School of Education and Human Development is home to a variety of interrelated disciplines and degree options focused on human development and well-being in educational and community contexts. Our undergraduate programs prepare students to work with children and youth in a variety of community and school contexts. We also offer a range of professional master’s degrees geared towards professionals in schools, communities, and the corporate world. For those interested in doctoral studies we offer Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Educational Psychology, Counseling Psychology, and School Psychology.

What we want
This Program Assistant, under general supervision, provides standard support for the PATHS Program. The
PATHS
Program is growing and has expanded from a one-year to a two-year training program. This Assistant will serve as an Instructional Aide, trained and equipped to meet our students' needs. If this job description sounds interesting to you, we invite you to apply to be considered for this opportunity.

Hourly Pay Rate - Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • No prior experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct face-to-face, online, and verbal presentations
  • Ability to work independently once given a project.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
  • Knowledgeable about PATHS curriculum
  • Ability to communicate technical information and instructions to a diverse audience. Excellent customer service skills
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Customer Service Experience
  • Past experience working as an Instructional Aide for PATHS
  • Successful completion of the PATHS Program at Texas A&M University
Preferred Licenses and Certifications:
  • PATHS Certificate

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledgeable about community resources to assist students
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor computer issues
  • Knowledgeable about various assistive technology
  • Familiar with TAMU classroom equipment, email, processes, procedures and policies
Responsibilities
Classroom Support
  • Responsible for daily data collection on student performance.
  • Assist students with navigation skills on and off campus.
  • Responsible for releasing assignments and tracking student progress and attendance in Teams.
  • Assist instructors and provide academic support for students in the PATHS Program which includes providing in-class and out of class support.
  • Collaborate with Advisors to help with development of student study plans.
  • Assist Instructor with development of materials, grading, and data entry.
  • Monitor Teams and respond to student inquiries.
  • Develop modifications and accommodations for students.
  • Provide assistance with troubleshooting student technology issues.
  • Substitute teach during instructor absence.
  • Assist instructor with creating lesson plans (PowerPoints).
Program Support
  • Assist with miscellaneous events such as graduation and presentations such as Open Houses
  • Attend and assist with conferences and transition fairs
  • General support for PATHS and CDD faculty and staff
  • Attend required weekly PATHS meetings
  • Coordinate with vendors on curriculum
  • Participate in the compliance process, orientation meetings, and wraparound meetings
  • Assist with administering surveys and collecting data for statistical purposes and may perform other duties as assigned
  • Assist with student orientations and summer check-in/out
