Job Description

The purpose of the Program Manager role is to oversee and manage the delivery of multiple projects or initiatives within key Technology Experience pillars. Program managers are responsible for ensuring that the programs align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives. Their primary focus is on delivering successful outcomes by managing resources, stakeholders, timelines, and financial budgets effectively. The Program Manager has strong stakeholder management and ability to bring clarity and direction in ambiguous environments that drives success.

 

  • Program Planning - Work with the business partners to assess and align on the scopes of work.  Develops program plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements/dependencies. Identify key milestones and establish clear project goals.  Proactively identifies risks and mitigation strategies to support a successful, on time launch. 
  • Continuous Improvement - Fosters a culture of continuous improvement within the program, identifying opportunities for efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation. Implements best practices, lessons learned, and process enhancements to enhance program performance.
  • Leadership - Lead a cross-functional project team and improve team performance by building team cohesiveness, guiding, influencing, and motivating to facilitate cooperation, ensure project efficiency, and foster employee engagement. Use leadership and influencing skills to ensure that cross-functional resources are held accountable for task and outcome completion. Lead and manage with other PM’s to support their career development.
  • Program Execution - Oversees the implementation and execution of program activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints. Identifies and mitigates risks, resolve issues, and escalate concerns when necessary.
  • Budget Management - Develops and manages program budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring financial targets are met. Provides regular reports on financial performance and takes corrective actions as required.

 

  • Analytical thinking, Strong customer focus.  Organizational and administrative skills. Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • 10+ years proven ability to influence and lead others in a multi-team environment
  • Ability to effectively work in ambiguous environments
  • Bachelor’s Degree, required
  • 6+ years experience managing a portfolio of projects
  • 10+ years in Project Management function
  • PMP/Scrum Certification, preferred
  • 10+ years experience applying project management best practices in the absence of entrenched standards
  • Working with stakeholders to balance business needs with technology capabilities
  • Ability to establish credibility with business and technology stakeholders and become a trusted partner
  • Create and maintain project schedules in Smartsheets or similar tools; managing task dependencies, resourcing, milestones, etc.
  • Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence or other online work collaboration tools. Written and verbal communication skills. Time management skills
  • Leadership, conflict management, and negotiation skills. Advise and mentor more junior team members. Interview new team member candidates
  • 10+ years experience in working with multiple vendors to supplement internal work
  • Understanding of SDLC processes and Agile/Waterfall methodologies
  • 10+ years proven ability to manage expectations and balance results with capacity
