Part Time Sophia Grader - Us History And Us Government - 20 Hrs

Graders evaluate submitted student work for content, competency, and adherence to the instructions and rubric in the US History and Government courses. Graders are held to efficiency and quality goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Complete grading rubrics and leave detailed feedback and comments for the learner.
• Participate in calibration efforts to ensure consistency of quality for our learners.
• Accurately read and measure student performance based against a grading rubric.
• Collaboratively work with the Lead for the course(s) to provide the student with constructive, supportive and concise feedback.
• Provide in-context feedback and scoring using the Sophia-provided rubric.
• Check student submissions for plagiarism and for grammar.

• Ability to keep accurate records.
• Exhibits sound judgment in making decisions.
• Subject matter competency in US History and Government.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
• Prioritization and time management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Work Experience

• Current or prior HS or Post-secondary teaching experience in the subject matter preferred.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
