JOB SUMMARY:

Marathon Pipe Line LLC (MPL) is seeking individuals for the position of Operations Center Specialist. MPL safely transports and stores crude oil, refined products, and natural gas throughout the United States. From a centralized Pipeline Operations Center, our Operations Center Specialists work on a diverse and highly trained team comprised of Pipeline Controllers and support Specialists to operate MPL’s pipeline systems.

The Pipeline Operations Center Project Specialist role will provide support to the Operations Center by representing the department during projects and asset onboarding. Additional responsibilities include:

• Support the POC Manager in the operations and daily needs of the POC.
• Represent the Pipeline Operations Center in MPL Risk Assessments
• Assist in the development of Commission, Decommission, & Recommission (CDR) plans for the Pipeline Operations Center (POC) by participating in CDR review meetings to ensure the POC concerns are addressed.
• Represent the POC during Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Process Hazard Review (PHR) meetings.
• Collaborating with other groups such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Controls and Automation (C&A), Hydraulics, Business Development (BD), Accounting, Scheduling, PQ, 3rd Party Companies, and Local Area Personnel
• Review Intelex Management of Change Requests (MOCR) from a Pipeline Operations Center perspective to identify any changes affecting the POC and to ensure those issues are addressed.
• Respond to information requests from outside departments for SCADA and operational data.
• Support the POC with the development of POC Controller procedures as necessary.
• Assist the POC Shift Specialist as needed during normal, abnormal, and Emergency operations
• Serve as the POC Lead during the onboarding new asset process by executing and tracking the tasks needed to be completed to successfully operate the new asset from the POC.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 5 years of Pipeline Controller experience
• High School Diploma

WORK SCHEDULE: 8 hour M-F, with occasional on-call duties. Travel required is very minimal
