Job Description
Supervise, train, and evaluate staff to achieve and maintain department standards in support of division and corporate goals. Plan, organize, prioritize, and monitor workflow in the unit, research and review regulatory and operational compliance information, act as a subject matter expert to internal and external business partners.


Develop, maintain, and monitor unit standards, processes, and procedures to ensure efficient, accurate, and measurable processing


Ensure effective communications are maintained within the unit and externally. Where appropriate inform employees as to plans and progress. Conduct employee discussion sessions at regular intervals


Coordinate training to ensure all staff receives appropriate information/instruction


Monitor performance of direct reports; provide prompt and objective feedback, coaching, and counseling, including corrective action plans as appropriate; collaboratively develop individual development plans for all staff; conduct employee discussion sessions at regular intervals; conduct performance reviews


Monitor work at the unit and individual level ensuring consistent, accurate, and timely processing to meet department, regulatory, and operational compliance standards. Assign resources appropriately to ensure balanced support in all channels


Coordinate with other unit/departments/divisions to facilitate special requests, resolve escalated customer inquiries, workflow, and production issues


Ensure training and knowledge reference resources are maintained within the unit


Act as a subject matter expert for questions and issues specific to the unit workflow, processes, and procedures to internal and external business partners


Escalate trends identified at the unit, department, division, or individual level that may impact customer/client experience, performance standards, or performance guarantees at the client level


Participate in the hiring and interviewing process for open positions within the unit ensuring that the most qualified candidates are selected


Assist in the development of unit budget, and monitor unit expenses to ensure unit costs are within established levels. Seek out process improvements that result in administrative cost savings without a negative impact to the quality of service provided to customers


Learn all aspects of the unit to better support the unit and team


Job Specifications


Typically Has The Following Skills Or Abilities


Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience


Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a business-related environment


General knowledge of regulatory and operational compliance requirements for call handling and claim processing


Ability to communicate to all levels of the company


Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Strong organizational and project management skills


Demonstrated ability to analyze work processes and make recommendations to improve department efficiency


Demonstrated ability to understand all internal work processes and procedures and communicate those effectively to staff, department trainers, specialists, analysts, and senior management


Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment the in performance of job duties


Compensation range for the role is listed below. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
