Operations Business Analyst Jobs

Our client, a Global Investment Banking and Financial Services company, is seeking an Operations Business Analyst for a 12+ month contract opportunity. This is a hybrid position, that requires candidates to work in the NYC office 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities:

1. Work with Operations teams to understand and document current processes (mapping) and identify gaps/limitations to movement to T+1 settlement

2. Gather information on relevant metrics – trade volumes, fail rates, allocation rates, affirmation rates, etc - to inform current state assessment and highlight high impact areas

3. Conduct gap analysis and document missing functions or changes in functions that will require process and potential technology enhancements

4. Partner with various operations groups and technology support groups to develop business requirements and inform technology solutions

5. Provide frequent and professional progress updates back to the Ops Change lead and wider Project team

6. Attend industry forums where required and track progress against regulatory timelines

Skills:

1. 10+ years of BA experience, with recent experience and a focus on large scale capital markets projects

2. 5+ years of FI experience (tech or operations) - no coding or development experience required as the role is supporting operational functions

3. Product knowledge – Fixed Income and Equity securities

4. Prior knowledge of US and Canada settlement and clearing systems and market conventions

Nice to have skills:

1. Operations (line) experience within a global bank supporting the settlements & clearing function

2. T+3 to T+2 Project experience

3. Knowledge and experience working with technology applications such as Broadridge, BPS, and or other functions (ATON, Cage, CPNS, BPSA, ECA, ClearancePro)

Soft Skills:

- Must have strong and articulate communication skills, with ability to speak confidently and succinctly to management

- Team Player, willing to work cross functionality to support other resources where required

- Must have good E.I. skills to determine risk scenarios and when to escalate and when to strategically influence

- Ability to flex to changing priorities and work across stakeholders workstreams if required
