Nsx Server Engineer Jobs

Our client is a best in-class IT solutions and services company, and right now they are looking to fill an NSX Server Engineer role for one of their main clients who is one of the largest faith-based nonprofit health systems in the United States. This person would maintain and manage the vSphere/vCenter virtualization management environment to ensure reliable operation, configuration, and optimal utilization of the managed ESXi environment. The ideal candidates that we are looking for would have several years of experience in virtualization primarily using VMware NSX.

**This would be a remote 6-12-month contract to hire position**

**Would need to go onsite in Dallas, TX once a quarter for meetings**

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in ESXi admin and VDI a plus
• Experience in various technologies such as Azure, PowerShell, Palo Alto, Linxu, and HP/Dell Server
• 3+ years of VMware and NSX experience in implementation, configuration, deployment, and management a must
• 5+ years of experience in a 10,000+ user environment with extensive technical knowledge of Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems; or Active Directory infrastructure and design; or Virtualization hypervisor infrastructure design.
• Light network knowledge on the VMware side desired
• Experience with Windows Server builds/patch management desired

Essential Job Requirements

• Serve as coordinator with backup administrators to design, implement, and assist in maintaining enterprise backup solution.
• Responsible for second level escalation for incidents and change tickets.
• Review and periodically update virtualization environment documentation including configuration settings, backups, and diagrams.
• Coordinate and assist with deployment of patches for hardware, hypervisor, and guest OS layers. Develop process to enable team members to successfully apply patches.
• Assist SAN administrators with virtualization design and storage requirements; provide forecasting of storage need to inform future storage purchases.
• Responsible for server hardware support, server OS support, server provisioning, patch management, software upgrades, and project support. Products include Microsoft server platforms, HP/Dell servers, VMware, Zerto, Ivanti, Cylance, and MS Azure.
