Network Operations Engineer Jobs

Who are we hiring?
The Network Operations Engineer will work with the Senior Network Engineer and team members to get an all-round understanding of networks and systems. The Network Operations Engineer will be responsible for resolving complex issues that involve analyzing packets and troubleshooting networks, supporting, and maintaining Voice and Video networks. The engineer must work towards improving the quality of technical and telecommunication services. The Network Operations Engineer will offer Network Support that includes operation and change management, fulfills the request for Network Devices such as Routers, Firewalls, WAN Optimization. The Network Operations Engineer will examine, evaluate, and monitor the incoming network change requests. Reporting to the Director of Technology Operations, this role is the crucial point of contact between the network operations team and other internal departments.
What will you do?

• Works closely with Senior Network Engineers and team to create capital and operational budgets that pertain to the equipment and services in use within the network infrastructure and Venue Technology Teams.
• Participate in a 24x7 call-out rotation.
• Monitors network and network connected equipment, identify and repair the internal and external communications of network/server/system.
• Offers first-line network surveillance and management support. They are responsible for high-level network operations.
• Provide support to the Senior Network Engineer by offering technical assistance regarding network design, implementation, and integration of network changes while performing various complex software development tasks. Utilize industry standards and repeatable processes to ensure delivery of contract capabilities.
• Installation of network hardware and software.
• Daily network performance monitoring.
• Designs virtual network services in support of business applications and communication platforms and networks for automation and intelligence – Create a program to visualize the performance of the network, monitor for health and report on problem areas.
• Deployment and maintenance of network monitoring, analysis and reporting tools.
• Provides administration and reporting services in the areas of incident and problem management.
• Tackles various network issues and contributes to the smooth functioning of the companywide network performance. The engineer will interact with the technical support, managed support, and service provisioning teams.
• Establishes testing strategy, standards and/or objectives in alignment with company enterprise IT objectives.
• Network troubleshooting and fault analysis; hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Executes fault isolation and diagnostic functions to ensure the execution of corrective actions on a real-time basis. Act as a technical specialist for troubleshooting and incident management during service interruptions.
• Creates production support availability, outages, runbooks, process documentation and status reports. Works in coordination with operational support teams to recognize and record monitoring and measurement requirements.
• Application of configuration changes via our change control systems and processes.
• Ensure stable and reliable ISP network services (e.g. access products, service networks and core network).
• Trouble ticket generation and response; carrier interface and escalations.
• Responsible for documenting LAN/WAN drawings, equipment lists accurately. Tracking and reporting the technical documentation of the network changes. Conducts a periodic review of upgraded system firmware, application software. Administer the production of IP and communications equipment.

What do you need to succeed?

• 3+ years of vendor management experience including the management of complex vendor engagements with large organizations such as Cisco, Palo Alto, F5 and others.
• Experience in all aspects of network security and security elements and supported networks with proper controls and governance from conception to execution.
• Ability to utilize various product platforms such as Cisco, F5, Citrix, Palo Alto and NetScout within advanced network operations
• Previous work at an enterprise level company supporting complex networks with absolute fault tolerance in mind
• Strong follow through and commitment to accuracy and efficiency in reporting, troubleshooting, problem-solving and maintaining networks
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or computer engineering or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of working with enterprise systems platforms such as compute, storage, data centers and automation
• Ability to expertly support and troubleshoot network connectivity to public cloud services providers specifically AWS and Azure.
• Experience designing for quality of service and micro-services across the network
• Embraces the opportunities for machine learning and other advanced intelligent platforms to drive outcomes
• 3+ years of enterprise network operations experience – applicant must be “hands on keyboard” with the ability to technically troubleshoot network related outages
