Title: Network Engineer III
Duration:Contract
Location: Remote
Summary:
The main function of a Network Engineer is to determine user requirements and design specifications for computer networks. A typical network engineer is responsible for planning and implementing network upgrades.
Job Responsibilities:
Adjust network sizes to meet volume or capacity demands
Communicate with customers, sales staff, or marketing staff to determine customer needs
Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs or upgrades
Design, build, or operate equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, or server operation systems
Determine specific network hardware or software requirements such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, or routine schemas
Develop and implement solutions for network problems
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
5-7 years experience required
Network/systems administration/related work experience required
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification a plus
Knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage
Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software
Skills for success:
1. Experience with sandbox security technologies and hyper-v.
2. Experience with Fiddler, wireshark and network monitoring tools.
3. Experience with pcap and ncap tooling.
4. Ability to analyze packet captures and their implications in a secure network.
5. Experience with packet capture software
6. Experience with sysinternals tools.
7. DNS knowledge
8. Networking experience
9. Experience with windows registry management
10. Experience reviewing security context of windows software.
11. Project management skills to track review state and progress.
12. Experience with Microsoft Windows and office suite of tools.
13. Knowledge of windows security architecture.
14. Ability to write and update scripts.
15. Familiarity with Git and development tooling.
16. Experience with windows firewalls and windows defender.
