Network Engineer Jobs

Job duties

Perform firewall operations support for projects and operational day to day. As a member of the security team, the engineer will follow existing corporate processes to analyze, define, and implement all firewall changes required for the removal of any target application security configurations.[EDP1]

The work includes:

•Plan and perform changes on Palo Alto firewalls.

•Gather network security requirements

•Configure/implement/upgrade Palo Alto firewalls and VPN

•Configure firewall policies on Palo Alto

•Optimize firewall rules

•(TA3Configure dynamic protocols, to include RIP, OSPF, and BGP

•Run application check-out meetings for firewall change validations.

•Analyze firewall requirements for application decommissions.

•Manage changes through ServiceNow ITSM application.

•Attend project meetings to report statuses, timelines, and any firewall issues.

•Participate in trouble-shooting application issues that may involve firewalls.

•On-call work required

•Basic understanding of AWS/AZURE platform

Mandatory Skills

•Must have 3+ years of experience configuring Palo Alto firewalls

•Must have experience gathering security requirements and designing network security

•Must have experience defining and configuring firewall policies

•Must have experience optimizing firewall rules

•Must have experience configuring Palo Alto VPN

•Must have experience configuring dynamic protocols RIP, OSPF, and BGP

Nice to Have Skills:

·3+ years working in a NOC / WAN environment, strong experience in incident and operations management a plus

·High level architectural and operational experience with complex networks.

Software/Hardware Desired

·Palo Alto firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, BlueCoat/Symantec Proxies, SDN/SD-WAN, Cloud (AWS, Azure, O365), SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, Unix/Linux, Python, Perl, NetScout.
