Job Overview:
Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a remote Network Engineer II. Responsibilities:
The Network Engineer II facilitates the responsibilities within the capacity of a senior technician, serving as the subject matter expert within their field, capable of mentoring others, and providing recommendations of best practices, design, and architecture to management. The individual must be able to work independently or on teams and leverage their technical knowledge, expertise, and systems analysis techniques and procedures to make proper decisions in regards to the proper management, upkeep, monitoring, testing, problem troubleshooting, providing advice and recommendations regarding the enterprise’s computer network, phone network, video networks, and internet. Responsibilities include hardware and application support; customer support for Shriners Headquarters and facilities; and product/vendor evaluation and recommendation.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have at least 4 years of related work experience, incluing experience diagnosing hardware and software security problems; thorough knowledge and experience with MS personal productivity software and OS; and experience with MS Office Suite. Preferred skills include experience with Cisco IOS, security products (Cisco, MS and Firewall) , Solarwinds, Cisco wireless and Cisco Unified Communications. An Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree is preferred but not required.
