In this exciting role as a Manufacturing Engineer on the Plymouth Nathan Lane project engineering team, you will have responsibility for executing a broad range of projects. Projects supported in this role can span from Equipment Development/Implementation, Process Validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA), Scrap Reduction, Lean Deployment, etc. This role will collaborate with the various cross-functional teams including but not limited to Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Operations and Technicians. This is an in-person role with very limited travel required.
This role is at the Plymouth Nathan Lane facility which supports the Peripheral Vascular Health (PVH) Operating Unit (OU). The PVH OU brings our various peripheral vascular businesses together into one cross-functional, collaborative operating unit to employ the full breadth of our talent, technologies, products, services, and solutions to address the needs of customers and patients across the globe.
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
- Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
- Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
- Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
- May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
- Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
- Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
- Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
- Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience
Nice to Have
- Experience interpreting mechanical drawings
- Experience with leading/executing process validation activities (installation qualifications, process characterization, operational and performance qualifications)
- Work experience with the following: FDA Quality System Regulations, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), ISO 13485, ISO 9001 standards or equivalent.
- Experience with DFMEA and PFMEA
- Experience with design of experiment (DOE) and other statistical methods
- Experience leading Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) projects
