Funding Information
This is a specially funded assignment with a projected end date of June 30, 2025 with renewal based on available funds and the needs of MCCCD.
If hired into a full-time short-term position and not continuing in a full-time benefits-eligible position at the conclusion of the assignment, then there will be a 6 month waiting period before being eligible to work in a part-time non-benefited position at the Maricopa Community Colleges

Job Summary
This is a full-time short-term assignment with a projected end date of June 30, 2025. Support internal IT and external college customers for servers and systems across the college. Administers assigned systems by providing maintenance, security, testing, upgrades, automation, and monitoring to ensure the reliability and uptime of systems. Work as a team to develop solutions to college support and instructional areas. Continuously improve systems using the latest technologies and technology standards.
Essential Functions
30% - Systems administration. Performs ongoing support of servers and applications, including proactive patching of servers and applications, providing technical support to customers, and access to servers and applications; applications to be used for internal IT, departmental, student, and College/District-wide use.
20% - Plans, coordinates, and implements systems, integrations, and deployments of new systems including managing projects and developing procedures, processes, best practices, and application of District policies and applicable laws.
20% Collaborates with Faculty to document and perform needs assessments to develop labs used for instruction.
10% - Assesses and mitigates server security issues including designing and deploying scanning processes, analyzing scan reports, remediation of found issues, and mitigating potential security vulnerabilities, application of server updates and performing server maintenance.
10% - Designs, configures, and maintains networks, virtualized infrastructure, storage networks, and systems.
10% - Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology (or any bachelors degree) and two full-time equivalent years of technical experience in the support of networks, systems, telecommunications and/or technology security.
OR
Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and four full-time equivalent years of technical experience in the support of networks, systems, telecommunications and/or technology security.
OR
High School Diploma/GED and six full-time equivalent years of technical experience in the support of networks, systems, telecommunications and/or technology security.
Desired Qualifications
A. Experience with deploying, securing, and maintaining Linux and Windows servers
B. Experience with deploying and maintaining storage systems (SAN/NAS)
C. Experience creating and maintaining perimeter and operating system firewall rules/policies
D. Coordinating system deployments and integrations with multiple areas
E. Scripting using languages such as Bash or Python
F. Experience with virtualization infrastructure
