Role Summary


The National Sales Director, West, reporting to the VP, Sales, will select, manage, and professionally develop a team of sales professionals. Also, this individual will be responsible for maintaining collaborative relationships with key internal and external customers and achieving sales goals and business objectives.


Responsibilities


  • Create and develop relationships with KOLs and other key stakeholders within and outside Pyros to ensure optimal support and collaboration.
  • Identify and drive collaboration with cross functional teams to benefit patients.
  • Conduct ongoing training needs analyses.
  • Collaborate with leadership, Marketing, and other sales leaders to construct and translate brand strategy into a national plan of action to drive sales.
  • Assess training class participants competency levels and provide timely evaluation and feedback.
  • Create and complete account planning tools and resources/reporting.
  • Develop and manage business relationships with key customers.
  • Examine and understand markets and customers and use knowledge to drive suggestions for Sales Force performance, business optimization, and growth.
  • Demonstrate leadership, mentoring, and coaching in formalized and non-formalized environments to enhance professionalism and leadership.
  • Support product launch training to ensure essential strategy and execution.
  • Understand and communicate current and future market trends and challenges in the healthcare industry; observe trends and leverage data to optimize business decisions.
  • Ensure career and sales skill development for evolving market conditions. Fulfill Sales meeting planning.
  • Build, lead, coach and develop sales teams focused on exceeding business goals.
  • Interface with Marketing and cross functional teams to help identify, create, and deliver relevant training to the field sales teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Skills & Requirements


  • Understanding of compliance and privacy laws.
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience with buy and bill outpatient facilities required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally to build a new organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual platforms.
  • Valid passport or travel documents to meet domestic and international travel requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose developmental needs of individuals and teams and implement effective tactics.
  • Ability to travel 30%+ as needed.
  • Experience with account planning including tools, resources, and reporting.
  • Experience in regional/national accounts and training.
  • Product launch experience is required.


Qualifications


  • 5+ years rare disease experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong knowledge and proven success in national / regional clinic systems.
  • 10+ years’ pharmaceutical industry sales experience in a management position with 5+ years of proven success as a sales leader.


Physical Demands


  • Routinely in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional mobility within home office and headquarters environments.
  • Constantly operating a computer, printer, telephone, and other similar office machinery.
  • Regular travel to headquarters and field-based locations expected.
