The National Account Director will work collaboratively with the Brand Teams, Finance and Legal to achieve business goals by gaining profitable and favorable formulary access in all relevant segments for the entire Sandoz US portfolio. This position will be responsible for strategic account development, integrating deeper and broader with large payers and specialty pharmacies to gather competitive intelligence and customer insights to better position Sandoz brands. The NAD will develop contracting, value proposition and strategies, leading the negotiation and implementation of customer contract/pricing programs with top national payer accounts, as well as develop the strategic direction for select specialty pharmacies. The candidate will drive greater account penetration to effectively position Sandoz as a valued business partner and lever to gain maximum advantage versus the competition.
Major Accountabilities:
  • Utilizes in-depth understanding of contracts and contract offerings, including the structure and contracting process for each customer; takes a leadership role with internal partners in forming strategic formal business agreements that will have a positive long-term business impact.
  • Builds and maintains strong internal and external relationships; connects key stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial solutions; develops and implements different approaches based on customer styles
  • Develop and manage high level strategic relationship at select Specialty Pharmacies
  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical business plans to create access and pull-through opportunities for Sandoz products in a variety of therapeutic areas for both the Pharmacy and Medical benefit.
  • Identifies, negotiates, and manages beneficial formulary position for Sandoz products within targeted National Payer Accounts
  • Sets strategy for specialty pharmacy and monitors contract execution for key products
  • Responsible for $100+ million in annual net sales from total account responsibilities.
  • Conducts periodic business reviews with accounts to explain performance of all contractual agreements with the goal of optimizing access
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $192,000 and $288,000 however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Minimum Requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS or BA) in business or related field.
Experience:
Required:
  • 50% Travel as required
  • Proven ability to navigate complex customers and build relationships across all key stakeholders, including executive management
  • Ability to turn understanding into powerful external market strategies
  • 8+ years of experience of which a minimum of 5 years must have been in Payer Account Management and a minimum of 3 years prior experience as account manager or head of account management
  • Critical understanding of contract operations and government price reporting
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities
  • Critical understanding of PBM, National Health Plan business, Specialty Pharmacy, and changing market landscape
  • Extensive experience in healthcare contracting
  • Ability to lead matrix teams in a complex environment
Preferred:
  • MBA or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3+ years of Specialty Pharmacy experience
