JOB SUMMARY

The Master of Science in Nursing Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MSN-PMHNP) program faculty will work with the Director of Graduate Programs and existing MSN faculty to plan, develop, implement and teach classes in the MSN programs of study. The successful candidate will be an integral member of a dynamic faculty dedicated to preparing registered nurses to be successful at the highest level of professional nursing practice.

Salary for this position is $70,000 yearly with a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical coverage, 403b, 23 Paid Time Off days, 21 Holidays, tuition remission, and much more.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Meet the diverse needs of Spalding University students by teaching classes in a variety of formats (including online, traditional and hybrid) as determined by School of Nursing faculty workload and student enrollment
• Represent the School of Nursing on appropriate University committees as needed or requested.
• Demonstrate proficiency in use of classroom, digital and online resources for teaching and learning
• Actively participate in community service opportunities and include service learning expectations for students in appropriate course work.
• Be an active participant on a minimum of two School of Nursing committees or councils.
• Measure and report student outcomes through existing School of Nursing Processes
• Plan, develop, and implement highly effective and engaging learning opportunities for nursing graduate students
• Consistently demonstrate ethical decision making and advocacy for safe, high quality health care through membership in national professional nursing organizations
• Take accountability for development of a personal professional development plan to be reviewed annually with program director.
• Provide academic and professional guidance to students in a timely fashion
• Create and maintain course materials in compliance with regulatory and accrediting parties of interest for the School of Nursing.
• Model high standards of professional behavior and communication.

SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrated ability to work/lead in a team environment
• 2 years of teaching experience is preferred.
• Active unencumbered nursing license recognized in Kentucky is required.
• A terminal degree (DNP, PhD, EdD etc) is required. If Doctorate is not in nursing, Masters Degree in Nursing is required.
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification
• Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal communication
• 5 years clinical nursing experience is required

• Regular contact with the general public.
• Regular or daily contact with administration, faculty, staff, and students.
• Must be able to work with, listen to, appreciate, and collaborate and lead with diverse populations.
