Faculty, Nursing (Rn-Bsn Program)

This Faculty member provides lecture and clinical teaching in an RN-BSN accredited Nursing Program. This is a full-time Faculty (FAC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the academic year (Fall Semester thru Summer Semester) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.

• Participates in School of Nursing and College affairs
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Participates in departmental recruiting and retention activities
• Prepares and submits student data to Department Chairperson
• Facilitates teaching/learning in the classroom, laboratory and clinical settings
• Teaches both day, evening and weekend classes as needed
• Evaluates students and performs career and academic advising
• Serves on committees
• Participates in curriculum development and revision that stress innovation and multicultural emphasis

• Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
• Master’s degree with Nursing Major; or Doctoral degree in Nursing or associated field preferred. Current FL License to practice Nursing; and 2 years equivalent FT Clinical Practice Experience as Registered Nurse. At least 30% of BSN coursework per academic year must be taught by Faculty with an earned Doctoral degree.
• Doctoral Stipend awarded in addition to base pay, as applicable
• Preference will be given to applicants with prior teaching experience in field
• All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
• Start date for this Faculty position is scheduled on or before Fall Semester 2023
• Must be able to travel between campuses, clinical sites and off-campus offering sites
• Possess excellent communication skills
• Theoretical and clinical expertise in medical-surgical nursing is required with additional ability to teach psychiatric or obstetric nursing preferred
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
• Ability to use technological tools in instruction, and familiarity with active, collaborative and student-centered techniques
