Faculty, Music Jobs

This faculty member teaches Music courses. This is a full-time Faculty (FAC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.

• Plans and organizes instructional materials to meet course objectives
• Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
• Participates in a variety of Departmental, Campus and College-wide programs, activities and committees and develops curricula
• Evaluates students and performs career and academic advising
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Prepares and submits student information to Department Chairperson

• Doctoral Stipend awarded in addition to base salary, as applicable
• Ability to function well in a technological environment and willing to use technological tools in instruction
• Familiarity with and use of collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instruction
• Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
• Start date for this Faculty position is anticipated beginning of Fall 2023
• All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
• Master's Degree in Music; or a Master's Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Music.
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Possess excellent communication skills and ablity to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills
• Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment

• Previous curriculum development and recruitment experience a plus.
• Strong background in jazz, both in highly-developed performance skills, as well as extensive college-level teaching experience
