Microsoft O365 Developer & Administrator (Senior)

Description

As a member of the Enterprise Technology Services Team, the Microsoft O365 Developer & Administrator – Senior is responsible for the architecture, design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of all aspects of the Microsoft O365 environment. This includes but is not limited to Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and Power Platform.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Identify critical system issues and engage cross-functional teams and external vendors for timely incident resolution and problem management for recurring issues
• Configure and customize SharePoint systems according to company specifications, building scalable web applications, writing and modifying code, debugging software, and training staff
• Administer and manage MS O365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and Power Platform
• Inspect, analyze, and translate functional and non-functional requirements into technical design, application code, and configuration parameters
• Create and maintain MS O365 user documentation and training materials
• Ensure maintenance plans are in place and best practices are implemented
• Set development project schedules, manage stakeholder expectations, and provide timely communications and reporting
• Partner with Enterprise Technology Services leadership to develop a vision and a strategy to achieve an ideal end-user experience with MS O365; including governance, adoption, solutioning and performing proofs of concept on MS O365 products
• Create technical and functional documentation
• Analyze patterns in business activity cycles and user personas to understand, anticipate, and influence user demands
• Conduct user testing to ensure proper functionality prior to implementation
• Remediate known errors within development and production support contexts
• Collaborate with IT staff to ensure MS O365 is integrated with other systems and applications
• Create and execute unit tests to ensure issues are proactively identified within the software development lifecycle
• Analyze code to identify causes of errors and defects
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access to MS O365 services
• Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting issues related to MS O365 applications and services
• Continuously improve applications and processes with a focus on quality, efficiency, and user experience
• Provide expert user support and guidance and deliver user training and documentation
• Create scripts to support migration as well as other tasks in MS O365
• Monitor MS O365 environment for issues, and proactively identify and resolve potential problems
• Work with end-users to implement forms, workflows and SharePoint site customizations
• Design, develop, test and implement information portals, content management systems, business automation, and collaboration platforms
• Estimate and size work based upon high-level requirements
• Collaborate with other teams across the enterprise and leverage existing, emerging, and innovative technologies to enhance the end-user experience, mitigate security risks and improve/streamline technology services processes
• Develop and implement policies and procedures related to Office 365 usage, security, and compliance
• Produce design specifications, including screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, and printed outputs developed for self and others
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MS O365 features and capabilities, and recommend new solutions to improve productivity and efficiency
• Convert technical design and specifications into functioning components through the development of application code and configuration
• Work with external vendors and service providers to ensure MS O365 services are running smoothly
• Apply knowledge of SharePoint site collection management, security model, content data types and overall best practices of managing the SharePoint Online environment

Required Skills And Abilities

• Experience with developing business process workflows and forms solutions using Microsoft Flow and PowerApps
• Demonstrated experience with developing SharePoint sites in SharePoint Online with out-of-the-box as well as custom features, including site collections, master pages, lists, custom lists and web parts
• Ability to provide on-call support, 24 hours per day/7 days per week, during emergency situations
• Advanced experience with Power Platform customized code, creating/modifying web parts, creating/modifying SharePoint sites and features, custom PowerApp forms, Power Automate workflows, and Power BI reports
• Third-party tools and solutions that integrate with Office 365
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Ability to monitor site trends (e.g., site usage and growth, disk space usage, and growth)
• A strong sense of urgency and focus on SLAs
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships and interact professionally with a diverse group of Executives, Managers, customers, and Subject Matter Experts
• Advanced experience with Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and Power Platform
• Administration and management of Microsoft O365
• Superior reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with UI, branding and responsive design standards
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Located in the Minneapolis or Houston area
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
• Outstanding customer service, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Office 365 licensing and subscription models
• Ability to travel up to 10%
• Security and compliance requirements related to MS O365

Knowledge, Experience And/Or Education

• At least 8 years experience administering and managing Microsoft O365
• Excellent PowerShell scripting and automation skills
• Exposure to JIRA and Confluence or similar suites or ticketing systems a plus
• Applied experience connecting Power BI to various data sources, including: SharePoint, Excel, and Teams and Azure platforms
• Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Experience with Agile Framework a plus
• JSON experience would be helpful but is not required
• At least 5 years experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
• Demonstrated experience with third-party tools and solutions that integrate with Office 365
• Experience with Power BI user-created columns and employing Visualizations from Microsoft’s Power BI store
• Previous experience working with ServiceNow a plus
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in security and compliance requirements related to MS O365
• Experience in the SaaS, employee benefits and/or healthcare space is a plus
• Familiarity with Office 365 licensing and subscription models
• Extremely strong knowledge of Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and Power Platform
• At least 5 years of Power Platform experience that includes customized code, creating/modifying web parts, creating/modifying SharePoint sites and features, custom PowerApp forms, Power Automate workflows, and Power BI reports
