Microsoft O365 Developer & Administrator (Junior)

Description

As a member of the Enterprise Technology Services Team, the Microsoft O365 Developer & Administrator - Junior is responsible for supporting the architecture, design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of all aspects of the Microsoft O365 environment. This includes but is not limited to Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and Power Platform.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide support in converting technical design and specifications into functioning components through the development of application code and configuration
• Support MS O365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and Power Platform
• Assist in creating and executing unit tests to ensure issues are proactively identified within the software development lifecycle
• Apply knowledge of SharePoint site collection management, security model, content data types and overall best practices of managing the SharePoint Online environment
• Support policies and procedures related to Office 365 usage, security, and compliance
• Collaborate with IT staff to assist in supporting MS O365 integration with other systems and applications
• Ensure maintenance plans are in place and best practices are implemented
• Work with external vendors and service providers to ensure MS O365 services are running smoothly
• Assist in monitoring MS O365 environment for issues, and proactively identify and resolve potential problems
• Create and maintain MS O365 user documentation and training materials
• Assist in creating scripts to support migration as well as other tasks in MS O365
• Assist in producing design specifications, including screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, and printed outputs developed for self and others
• Support for implementation of information portals, content management systems, business automation, and collaboration platforms
• Assist in analyzing patterns in business activity cycles and user personas to understand, anticipate, and influence user demands
• Work with end-users to implement forms, workflows and SharePoint site customizations
• Participate in analyzing code to identify causes of errors and defects
• Support for user accounts, permissions, and access to MS O365 services
• Assist in identifying critical system issues and engaging cross-functional teams and external vendors for timely incident resolution and problem management for recurring issues
• Collaborate with other teams across the enterprise and leverage existing, emerging, and innovative technologies to enhance the end-user experience, mitigate security risks and improve/streamline technology services processes
• Support in configuring and customizing SharePoint systems according to company specifications and training staff
• Assist with user testing to ensure proper functionality prior to implementation
• Create technical and functional documentation
• Participate in inspecting, analyzing, and translating of functional and non-functional requirements into technical design, application code, and configuration parameters
• Support to end-users, troubleshooting issues related to MS O365 applications and services
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MS O365 features and capabilities, and recommend new solutions to improve productivity and efficiency
• Provide user support and guidance and deliver user training and documentation
• Provide ongoing support of applications and processes with a focus on quality, efficiency, and user experience
• Provide support in remediating known errors within development and production support contexts

Required Skills And Abilities

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Located in the Minneapolis or Houston area
• General understanding of UI, branding and responsive design standards
• Experience with Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and Power Platform
• Experience with Power Platform customized code, creating/modifying web parts, creating/modifying SharePoint sites and features, custom PowerApp forms, Power Automate workflows, and Power BI reports
• General understanding of security and compliance requirements related to MS O365
• Ability to provide on-call support, 24 hours per day/7 days per week, during emergency situations
• A strong sense of urgency and focus on SLAs
• Ability to monitor site trends (e.g., site usage and growth, disk space usage, and growth)
• Experience with developing SharePoint sites in SharePoint Online with out-of-the-box as well as custom features, including site collections, master pages, lists, custom lists and web parts
• Outstanding customer service, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships and interact professionally with a diverse group of Executives, Managers, customers, and Subject Matter Experts
• General understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
• General understanding of Office 365 licensing and subscription models
• Ability to support and manage Microsoft O365
• Ability to travel up to 10%
• Experience with developing business process workflows and forms solutions using Microsoft Flow and PowerApps
• Good reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

Knowledge, Experience And/Or Education

• Familiarity and knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
• Knowledge of Power BI and its connectivity to various data sources, including: SharePoint, Excel, and Teams and Azure platforms
• Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• PowerShell scripting and automation skills is a plus
• Experience with Power BI user-created columns and employing Visualizations from Microsoft’s Power BI store
• 1- 3 years experience supporting Microsoft O365
• Exposure to JIRA and Confluence or similar suites or ticketing systems a plus
• Knowledge with security and compliance requirements related to MS O365
• Previous experience working with ServiceNow a plus
• Knowledge of Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and Power Platform
• Experience in the SaaS, employee benefits and/or healthcare space is a plus
• JSON experience would be helpful but is not required
• Experience with Agile Framework a plus
• Familiarity with Office 365 licensing and subscription models
