This is a hybrid position that can be based out of our New York City or Columbus, OH headquarters.
Your Role
The Merchant develops and drives strategies and seasonal assortment plans for a category of business based on detailed knowledge of the brand, intimate understanding of the customer, and studied appreciation of the competition and overall marketplace. The Merchant demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the connection between financial strategies and related merchandise objectives. The position collaborates directly with various cross functional teams including but not limited to design, merchandise planning, demand & deployment, production, stores operations, and visual presentation to ensure execution of the accurate brand vision and category goals.

Your Impact
- Develop and support merchandising strategies that are incorporated into the annual and seasonal business plan to achieve sales and profit plans
- Develop a strategic point of view of category growth plans and product pipeline
- Manage in-season business by tracking and analyzing sales data to identify opportunities to increase sales, improve margins, maximize inventory, and decrease markdowns
- Strategize and anticipate the up-and-coming fashions/items/looks/products and create distortion to optimize the potential of that future trend
- Develop strong partnerships with Merchandise Planning and Allocation, Marketing, and external Brand teams
- Identify whitespace opportunities and challenges for in-season business and future-season line planning
- Communicate competitive data to the organization to recommend "first in market" changes and ways to increase sales and profit results
- Leverage retail experience and expertise to intimately understand the target customer, brand, competition, and trends
- Influence cross-functional teams in translating customer, competitor, and merchandise fashion knowledge into action
- Complement key item base with a breadth of selection to include newness through novelty items without over-assorting
Qualifications
Your Experience
- Strong presentations skills and able to articulate clear strategies
- Acute sense of brand and customer intimacy with an ability to translate trends
- Strong communication skills when dealing with internal and external partners
- Systems and computer proficiency (MS Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Exudes passion for trends, show an extreme curiosity and knowledge in the industry, and has a forward-thinking mindset to anticipate the ever-changing trends
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills along with an entrepreneurial risk mentality
- Innovative thinker with the ability to identify the newest trends and whitespace opportunities
- Successful track record for delivering high-volume business growth and bottom line results
- Wholesale experience or experience in intimates and apparel
- Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years’ experience in Merchandising
