MENTOR RELATIONS AND EVENTS COORDINATOR, Undergraduate Practice Opportunities Program (UPOP), to join a year-long professional development program for sophomores that is focused on building the relevant and critical skills necessary for their future careers. Will manage relationships with UPOP’s volunteer mentors and handle the logistics and coordination of core events that support the program’s mission; leverage best practices in volunteer management to develop and implement strategies for recruiting UPOP Mentor Network members and Team Training Workshop mentors and for the training and ongoing stewardship of UPOP/mentor relationships; maintain relationships and ongoing communication with vendors, internal MIT space managers, and event speakers; and plan and execute large and small events in partnership with the senior program manager and UPOP colleagues. Will work under the supervision of the senior program manager.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; two years of administrative and/or project/program management experience, preferably in a higher education environment; experience with sensitive relationship management and events; excellent time management, communication, and organization skills; attention to detail; self-motivation; ability to work both independently and cooperatively; proven success working as a member of a team; tact and diplomacy with sensitive and confidential information; strong computer skills needed, including proficiency with Microsoft Office; and willingness to learn. PREFERRED: experience managing large scale-events and working with university faculty and/or senior officers, and experience with Salesforce or other CRM software. Job #22656-6
