Job Description
Description

The Mental Health Case Worker determines the eligibility of clients for services, assesses needs, and provides case management services as an unlicensed qualified mental health professional to students diagnosed with mental health problems.
This recruitment will be used to establish an Eligibility List for current Mental Health Case Worker vacancies as well as any future vacancies. This list will be active for three (3) months with the possibility to be extended. Positions are typically full-time (40 hours) and may work 10, 11, or 12 months. Positions greater than 20 hours per week qualify for district-paid health and wellness benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents.
This is a promotional/open opportunity, which means that current monthly-salaried employees receive precedence over other candidates on the eligible list.

  • For a promotional/open posting, the top ten internal applicants will be provided unless there is an insufficient number and then the list will be supplemented with the top external applicants to make up the ten (Employment Regulations for the Classified Service of the San Diego Unified School District: Article 2, Section 9).
Candidates considered for positions that require bilingual skills will be invited to a Performance Test (Qualifying Only) for oral and written fluency. Bilingual positions qualify for a 5% bilingual differential.

The
Mental Health Case Worker will be paid on the OTBS Salary Schedule.
Salary Grade: 44. The OTBS Salary Schedule can be found by clicking here.
